Pull the fuel relay while the engine is running to get rid of the gas in the line ya dummy.
My truck will not fully start and stay running. Where is fuel relay. Truck died in traffic had if towed home. God watching over me. Was at a light thru in Neutral coast down hill into Lowes pking lot! Looking at a lot reading as much as possible. Just filled gas tank day before. I thought how am I going to get all that gas siphoned out of the tank and into containers. I thought this is not going to be fun. I need all the help and suggestions I can get

I bough this simply because the stock air intake is a terrible design and gets in the way of everything. Total PITA!

So you can’t just slide the gas filter out without removing the bracket ?
Id assume maybe but if you can without breaking it just take it off
Just fyi THIS IS A STANDARD S-10. If you have one of the Flex fuel equiped S-10's the fuel filer has 3 lines going to it as the fuel filter on the flex fuel trucks also contains the fuel pressure regulator (vac line). Which is a lot easier to get to and change on the flex fuel trucks. So if your truck has 2 lines going to this fuel filter its a standard truck and if your truck has 3 lines going to this filter its a flex fuel equiped truck.
must be nice having no rust lol...its a whole different beast to deal with up north with the salt and such.
I wish you still had the box that goes to the throttle valve. Mine broke and I would gladly take it off your hands.
disconnect that top radiator hose and the whole thing would come out in one piece the boy is making more work for himself
First you should go under the hood back by distributor and bleed the pressure off the line using the schrader valve on fuel line . second spray wd40 on threaded side of fuel filter and let it work for 15 or so minutes as it can rust and you can twist the fuel line in half when the nut breaks loose. 2 points that need to be told.
Getting ready to do this right now. The WD40 idea was on my mind but thank you for the tip on fuel pressure release!

With my injection, I don't really have a distributor...I don't know what A Schrader valve is and from under the hood of my S-10, you cannot really see a fuel line.

What is the useless box at 6:24 you removed? Mine is missing and the engine is bypassing the air cleaner now. Can I just duck tape that hole or is that useless box needed for anything?

Doesn't the stock airbox pull air from in front , pulling in outside air? Now pull is coming from under hood. Definitely hot air.. this is good how?
still the same concept without the shield covering the OEM filter, its still in the same spot, but it is mainly sound is the good out of it, I am wondering if it is even worth doing, specially at the price of the K&N
Does putting on the cold air intake affect the computer to keep the service engine soon light on due to having disconnected the resonator flow valve below the radiator that the intake was ciculating air through?
put one on mine...no problems so far
yep me as well also my blinker fluid and muffler bearings were around the same area at the front there so i went ahead and changed that stuff too

No
You get 7 to 8 more horse power, If you do this with a few other tweaks like a throttle body spacer, a stage 1 computer chip, and a fart can you can sometimes get up to 25 extra horse power. On a 4 cylnder like this that is a big upgrade.
my intake is fine, i had aluminum tube it doesnt make noise when hitting the gas, also Flowmaster, damn sounds like a V8

Gearhead LSX454R does your 2.2 make any noise when cold? I would describe mine as either valve noise or piston slap

So did you start with disconnecting the front of the fuel filter first, or the back? Is it under pressure? How much fuel is going to squirt in my face? I have a '95 Blazer that's running bad, thought I'd start with the most simple repair first before taking it to my mechanic and spending $400... Wish you lived near me, I'd buy a half-rack of some good beer, turn on some tunes and slip you a $20 for your help........
Noah Fitzwilliam. yes the fuel line is pressurized. you can relieve the pressure by removing the fuse for the fuel pump and starting the truck and letting it idle until it dies then remove filler cap
400???? no way The dealer my bet about a 100 a local shop I would say 50-70
All I did was opened the the gas cap and let the pressure out and nothing was under pressure

i did away with my quick connect because it broke and kept leaking ! i cut the hose off and ran a fuel injection hose from the engine to the filter !
