    Reminds me of a comment argument I got into with that guy that says the sun isn't a plasma it's a liquid.. Forget his name but it begins with a Z. A lot of his arguments make sense, but he's missing half the story. For instance one of his assumptions is based on for it to be called the plasma means it has to be 100% ionized. As in, not excited electrons in an orbital , or a few electrons stripped off, but like every electron completely removed and charge separated from every nucleus 100% ... I don't think the definition of a plasma requires that, please correct me if I'm wrong.

    • @someguy79
      @someguy79 2 дні тому

      spacetime is not a fluid as fluids are matter ... and condensed matter is matter , usually compressed with lasers .

    • @stillwaterbuilders3714
      @stillwaterbuilders3714 2 дні тому

      @someguy79, absolutely, it behaves like a superfluid, and it helps in qauntum physics to think of it like that not that it necessarily is a superfluid in and of itself. Spacetime theoretically can be condensed in the same since matter is condensed but that's purely found in thought experiments concerning blackholes i.e. unverifiable.

    As you have not provided a humorous and scientifically pedantic alternative for a 7 second tongue and cheek joke. I have spent roughly the same amount of time generating an alternative. [Scene: Sheldon is sitting on the couch, wrapped in a blanket, looking pale and sniffly. Leonard walks in holding a glass of water and a notepad.] Leonard: [matter-of-factly] Sheldon, as you’re currently suffering from a rhinovirus infection, it’s imperative you increase your fluid intake to maintain hydration and support mucosal barrier function. Here-[hands over the glass]-I brought you precisely 250 milliliters of water. Sheldon: [sniffling, raising an eyebrow] Oh, “fluids,” Leonard? That’s quite vague for someone with a doctorate. Do you mean liquids specifically, or are you implying I should inhale gases or, perhaps, experiment with plasmas? Leonard: [sitting down, unfazed] Don’t be ridiculous, Sheldon. While gases and plasmas are technically fluids under the definition of fluid mechanics, they’re not physiologically viable for hydration. Gases lack molecular density for cellular absorption, and plasmas would ionize your tissues, causing irreparable damage. Sheldon: [glaring slightly] Thank you for the remedial lesson in states of matter, Leonard. You must be very proud of yourself. However, your recommendation is still deficient. Where’s the mention of electrolytes? Sodium, potassium, chloride-these are critical to maintain osmotic balance. If I’m not also replenishing my electrolytes, I might as well be drinking distilled water. Leonard: [nodding smugly] Funny you should mention that. I added a pinch of sodium chloride to your water. Not enough to taste, but enough to optimize absorption in the small intestine. Sheldon: [visibly impressed but trying to hide it] Hmm. I see. Well played, Leonard. However, did you account for the fact that my elevated basal metabolic rate due to fever might require slightly higher solute concentrations to replenish losses via sweat? Leonard: [grinning] Of course I did, Sheldon. I calculated it based on your approximate surface area and body mass. You’re looking at an ideal hydration solution for someone of your exact size, down to the nearest gram. Sheldon: [narrowing his eyes] Well, congratulations, Leonard. You’ve managed to temporarily meet my hydration needs. But let’s not forget, this is just water. Where’s the hot beverage? A sick person deserves a comforting hot beverage. Leonard: [standing up, rolling his eyes] Fine, I’ll make you tea. But I’m using the microwave, so don’t expect perfect molecular dispersion. Sheldon: [gasping dramatically] Leonard, no! The microwave disrupts the even heating of water molecules, creating superheated pockets. If I wanted inconsistent tea, I’d ask Howard to make it. Leonard: [walking away, muttering] Next time, I’ll just leave you with the instruction manual for rehydration. Seems a little unnecessary, no? If you can’t provide a humorous and scientifically accurate alternative, then it’s less about constructive criticism and more about trying to be the smartest nerd in the room. 🤷‍♂️
