I've been in school for over 10 years. I still don't know how to do my laundry or even cook for my girlfriend. Heck, I still can't properly brush my teeth. I'm at the top of my class I think right now and what did I have? Absolutely nothing. Luckily, school has taught me some important stuff such as sin, cos, tan and how mitochondriais the powerhouse of the cell. I'm so happy I remembered SOH CAH TOA because it helped me a lot. Ok, I'm lying let me stop. Truthfully, all the stuff they taught me, I forgot. I remember mom asking me, "What'd you learn in school today?". I'd reply, "Nothing much". The truth is, that I've already forgotten. It's not just me, it's million of kids around the world singing this same song which might include you. School is just a game for getting that top score and how many full marks you can collect. But what do you expect when the most commonly asked question is, "Is this going to be on a test?" If school put learning instead of testing and memorizing as the top standard, the letter "F" would mean Find another solution. Students would get more benefit from an hour of sleep than doing problems 1-60 on a worksheet, having 3 projects due this weak, and 1 essay. These Six Cruel Hours Of Our Lives (School), might just be the greatest waste of time management in history. What they do is, cram information in your head. That's not education. Schools teach you how to memorize dots, but true education teaches you how to connect them. Education comes from the word "educe" which means to bring out of a person. School doesn't bring out much, instead they cram with you facts. They're telling me that I need to know the difference between igneous and metamorphic rocks, but not self care?
