People who call her a crybaby probably never lost a loved one, are sociopaths or are one of those people who expects the main female character to be strong and independent. I agree she should have some backbone and stand up for herself (which Elena does) but that doesn’t mean she’s not allowed to cry over losing her loved ones. A “strong female character” should be like how an actual person would be which means they would cry, laugh, feel angry, silly, feel joy, empathy, etc. you know…emotions…because most humans feel emotions….i know, shocking. How can you look at a girl crying and be like “omg what a crybaby get over it other people lost loved ones too” like wtf that’s so evil. Katherine says “I’m a survivor” yet there’s people who survived more than her but you won’t see anyone being like “omg Katherine get over it everyone survived something”
