As a minimalist this gives me anxious, having loads of stuff to worry about, whether it's fires, burglary or whatever. I would be paranoid. The only thing I collect is memories, experiences and skills, stuff that no one can take away from me unless they kill me.

I can't imagine saying toys made me who I am, I would be embarassed. I like to think the people I knew personally or the things I did made me who I am. But some corpo-slop hype-plastic? Just, ew.

For me being an only child and losing my mum a year ago my collection has exploded and its been 1 way for me to be able to remember the good times i had at mcdonalds getying toys and watching cartoons in my room at night when i was supposed to be asleep! having epilepsy it affects my memory aswell im so afraid of losing my stuff because i dont want to forget my past!! To me I'm a toy collector that likes to buy toys once in My month over at a hobby shop just to buy whatever toys. To get and put them in my room just to never touch them Well the only time I would touch them to either use them. To make a stop motion animation video which making A stop motion animation can be very hard to do though. Since you do have to come up with a very good idea To make a stop motion animation while of course. They do take so much times and days to work on one Or I would use them to make a tiktok that I own those Skitbots that are stop motion animation toys. That I decide to use them to make tiktoks but not In stop motion way just in the tiktok way though. Which I always will find toy collecting to be a fun hobby That I will go over at a hobby store that exist in our world. Aka gamestop is one of them but of course I just do not Like there are people that don't understand toy collecting.. Since there will be people that will make fun of you for Collecting toys which I can understand in fact we do live In a society where toys are meant to be play with but. I'm sure they don't realized there exist collectable toys Since those toys are meant to be collected though. They ain't meant to be play with but yet they will still Insult you for collecting toys since they will say stuff. Like you play with toys or go play with your toys! 🤓 Which that is just rude to say to a toy collector that Doesn't even bother to touch their toys they collect. Which I know in fact I have doubt with so many people That insult me for collecting toys since I have doubt. With many of them on youtube from the times when I used to have a youtube account that was name. Lego sora that someone before tells me to play with My legos when I told him I don't even play with them. But yet he still tells me to play with them and even Thinks I play with them even when I don't though. And even when I told him I collect them but yet He still accuses me of playing with my legos. I have even when I never bother to touch them Even when I told him the differences between. Collecting and playing but he still decides to be Ignorant towards me by telling me to play with my Legos lmao.. and there was a time on youtube when I used to be a user on youtube that would make videos. For fun but quit because of a dislike bomb attack by A bunch of users and even the times some of my videos. Became a target by two users all because I used to have A my little pony collection which it was the times before. When I was a brony from the times when the brony Fandom was really huge and even the times when Bronies themselves were a very active breed before. But since now the brony fandom is nothing but dead And there hardly exist bronies now but I never like the Times one of the users that reupload one of my videos. That is lost forever since him and his other friend has Removed my stop motion animation video of a my little Pony toy unboxing itself but I just never like in fact. How the guy goes on insulting me over collecting My little pony toys by calling me homophobic insults. By calling me gay and queer and even the f slur but I never forget the times when I say some homophobic Stuff towards him also when he was being homophobic. Towards me before but yet the dude goes on saying to Me there's nothing wrong with being gay which I was like To him yeah.. you sure do find being gay wrong even When you decide to call me gay and queer and the F slur all because I decide to collect toys that are meant For little girls lmao! that I find it funny how the guy. Himself decides to exploit the saying there is nothing Wrong with being gay to me just to act like he wasn't Being homophobic while I was the one being homophobic First lmao! but I do find him to be childish for calling me. Homophobic insults and even tells me to play with those My little pony toys and even says you play with dolls. Even when I never bother to play with them and even When I have them in a bin but of course the guy himself. And even his friend don't remember me anymore lol Even when I ask them if they remember me and even. The times they say that stuff towards me but he replies Back saying no he doesn't lol! like damn it's insane how The guy that attack me on youtube and insult me over My hobby forgot that I exist while I still remember him And his friend for attack me on youtube even when. I was just trying to have fun making youtube videos And of course on tiktok I doubt with so many immature Users that decide to insult me by saying you play with Toys or go play with your toys all because they saw my Tiktok videos lol.. since they only think I play with my toys All because I used them for tiktok that I have so much Fights with them for being so rude towards me though. Which I always will find toy collecting to be a fun hobby If you're a toy collector but as a toy collector we sure do. Have to deal with such immature people that don't Understand toy collecting and just can't let people enjoy Things at all.. 🙄

Man Disney pins are no joke, I first went to Disney world when I was 19 in 2021 so yeah…not that long ago, I got really into the pins, fast forward 3 years, I spent probably $4,000 on pins, and just sold off my collection which…is still painful, but I sold my collection for $26,000 and bought my first newish car, a Ford Mustang, now I’m 21 starting a six figure job in 7 months and my pin collection is about to be restarting!

I also am a collector...VINYL etc of my fav artist CONNIE FRANCIS and i'm still after 52 yrs adding stuff. From that collecting i was introduced to Stamps from New Zealand, Greece, Britain, Cyprus, Cook Islands. I am still looking for wooden angels from Italy in the 1950's and in full it was fantastically done on a roundabout with mother angel hanging from a silver crown. I have 4 little angels that survive, and when i make the christmas cake i put them in the top icing.

First generation Beatles fan since they came to the US to do the Ed Sullivan Show on Feb.9, 1964. As a kid in '64...I started with the records...the magazines...the bubble gum cards...you name it...I had it. Now I have lots of "one off" items from The Beatles...personally owned items...autographs...owned and worn clothing...all kinds of stuff. Used to travel to all the major Beatles shows in the US & Canada and put everything on display....

As a dealer in collectibles a few comments: 1. Collect because you like it...not because you THINK it MIGHT go up in value. It may very well go up....and it may very well NOT. 2.Avoid Funko Pops - buy them ONLY because you like them. They are the "Beanie Babies" of the 2000's. Tomorrow's garage sale FODDER I assure you. They don't even get used like comic books or baseball cards.....no ONE takes them out of the package to ever get damaged or used. They remain pristine...FOREVER. Big mistake in collecting.... 3. Condition, condition, condition 4.Just because it's rare doesn't mean it's going to be valuable. 5. Just because it's old doesn't mean it's going to be valuable. 6. Just because it's old AND rare does not necessarily mean it's going to be valuable. The item needs to be popular too. 7. If someone is offering you "crazy high money" for something....I highly recommend you take it. Odds are, you'll never get that amount offered to you AGAIN. 8. That "digital skin" shit.....biggest CON that ever came up...Wish I had thought of it. Don't do IT! BUY THE PHYSICAL. Bits and Bytes are worthless. EVER hear of FTX and the scammer Bankman-Fried? If not - do the research! See you all at the next comic or anime show....or at the next flea market.....

I'm trying to collect the original 151 pokemon figures. Been getting a lot of hate and belittlement from uncles/aunties who don't understand. Watching documentaries like these to make myself feel better.

collector hobby is pretty niche and expensive that's why some people kinda looking down on this hobby i think it's all about perspective

I’m hopping onto this video almost 2 years after it’s production (and wow, how amazing is it you made this in that shaky year 2020,) and I’m blown away! The quality in this is so amazing; the editing and the cuts to different collectors helps to keep the video flowing, and it’s so awesome to see a group of fellow collectors brought in to shed some light on the topic of their hobby and telling their stories. Everyone has a different collection, no two are the same, and they grow and change along with the person; in a sense it’s a physical representation of them and their life. It’s so easy to point to something and pull a memory from it, which is some of my favorite parts of collecting. This documentary really explains from the inside how collecting feels and how it grows and evolves from childhood. We want to remember and reanimate the memories of our youth. My dad has battled with cancer for many years now, and collecting helps me through it. It brings me memories of the times I spent hunting for the movies and DVD’s I collect, asking him about the movies of his childhood that I can experience for myself. Collecting can be very personal to people, and I loved the woman who collects ornaments especially. She encapsulated to me my feelings on collecting, how it brought her family closer, and gave them special times together. It really is in the thrill of the hunt! Thank you so much for putting so much time and effort into this project, it was a labor of love and it shows your passion for storytelling. Definitely coming back to this when I’m feeling low, just to remember how cool it is to be a collector, lol.

I started collecting dragon type yugioh cards, crystals from mexico, dragon alebrijes, and want to start collecting dragon ty beanie babies. Basically I collect thing from mexico and dragons lol
