Lester Piggott interview after win on Royal Academy.
Mill House was still a fantastic horse even though Arkle had all the plaudits.
The most remarkable race with the most remarkable jockey. Even the American crowd knew who the great Lester was.
When horses were horses. Great names and great memories.
Monksfield was a warrior; connections weren't obsessed with preserving an unbeaten record
Wonderful coverage
It's a great shame that no footage exists of Mandarin's victory in the 1962 Cheltenham Gold Cup. Typically, the BBC has destroyed it.
Henry and Steve true legends
I remember watching that race live it was unbelievable was jumping for joy willie must have been peed off because it was the best IMHO
Repulsively incredible.
Thank you, that's wonderful. I'd never even heard of it. Sterling performance by JB. What a shame they didn't also invite Barry McKenzie to regale the Laureate with a rendition of The Old Pacific Sea.
I'm not sure that Betjeman was aware of the situation
No, he was, and he and Humphreys were good friends. Betjeman loved that kind of low comedy.
2 superstars .

What a combination. First class both
So great to see this, thanks for posting. Amazing jumping by Mill House, the way he flew the railway fences was fantastic. So heartwarming to see the reception he got from the Sandown crowd.
Phenomenal 🏇🏇🏇Phenomenon 🏇🏇🏇💯Be King Lester🏇🏇🏇GRH👏👏👏🙏
Britain's best jockey and he trainec Sonny Somers too!
Real chasers unlike todays
RIP Parky❤
Moorestyle a great champion.
One of the most moving moment of Commonwealth Games History
The best ever
Unbelievable speed from Dancing Brave anyone who believes Frankel could of beaten him at 1m 4f are out of there mind.
I was standing by the 2 furlong marker... The Brave went past like a 5 furlong sprinter... Will forever be the best horse not to win the Derby... But winner of the greatest Arc to date
John Mc Master
Andy Bradbury..
Michael got his own back😂
Oh he certainly did, and then some 😅
Brilliant jockey and a very good horse. Lester piggott was a class act a legend.
Betjeman and Sir Les is a meeting that could not possibly occur in this dimension.
Why does England list odds as 6/4 instead of 3/2 like we do here?
When Alan Ball played for whitecaps for the cup final all the players were introduced and ran through a giant ball to run on to the pitch , Ball walked through 😂 it was awesome. Here to play not wasting any energy lol. Another whitecaps game in our version of a penalty shot shootout where you dribbled in and had to score with 5 seconds on the clock Willie had scored his attempt where as his old teammate on opposing team missed and Willie bent over and gave his buddy a bare ass . Red card and suspended. We saw him in the concourse next home game and I got to get his autograph! 8 years old he was my idol 😁
Great stories,my friend.
What a lovely man he was.
Farewell Barry, Farewell Les. I love this scene and I will remember it long, long after any Dame Edna scene. Beautiful.
Ulster❤❤❤
May Christ ⛪ bless Northern Ireland❤❤❤😊😊
The most memorable ride from Lester ,.. GG
Racing hasnt changed much Apart from political correctness trying to ruin White Society.
its a wonder the bbc allowed him he was light years ahead of his time excuse the pun
😂😂😂
Fred Winter remarkable jockey and great trainer x marvellous career x great horses. X.
Great footage of old Les showing the poms how to promote culture. One of his great lines he in another video l watched old Les sais there's a rumour going round there's no culture down in Australia we'll lm here to tell ya we got it coming out of our arse?? knowone could describe it better than a cultural icon such as Les. The look on Barry Humphries face at the end said it all.😁👀
Freddie a great horrse
No F-ing or swearing of any type. How times have changed. An England from yesteryears.
There was what I assume was a seat word bleeped out at the end
Arthur Atkins. Such a legend !!!
Steve Cauthen is wonderful
From Autumn 1983 to his injury in March 1985 BHL carried all before he. He was unbeatable be it Gold Cup or Handicaps in 8 major wins
Wonderful to see x marvellous performance in Paris x great combination x tough horse and jockey x Mandarin and Fred Winter x lovely nostalgia. x.
rapid eye blinking indicates lying
L Angleterre était en avance en ce qui concerne les femmes dans le monde des courses comparativement à la France
Yes,Alan Ball was right..These days we have diving&cheating(Or should i say :simulation)' treated as some kind of special skill!
