@@charlesxaudaro5284 This is how slate that you see on someone's roof or a patio deck is made. It comes from the huge slabs of shale type of stone taken out of the ground at a slate quarry. This is when they first enter the building on the conveyor rollers. Look at the rest of the clips to see the processes in sequence.

@@Sundog0811 This is actually stone slate. The get it out of the ground by breaking large pieces and then you see from several videos that I posted what they do to get a single pice of slate onto a pallet. It's typically used for roofing, but patios have slate also. This was a slate quarry in Fairhaven, Vermont. They produce all this stuff there. As I drove out of town with my load of slate for roofing, I noticed that 99% of the homes and any other building around had a beautifully installed slate roof. I hope this answers some of your questions about it. I took the videos because I never actually saw it produced before.
