Can you tell me please what is the torque of al the bolts?
What was the torque?
So much more space to work with compared to the Jaguar XF
My seat in a w207 chassis does come forward enough in the seat back aspect, so worth checking the seat cable adjustments. Many thanks
This is helpful. Many thanks for making this video to help us.😊
How do you access seat motor?
very helpful…
Hi Alan, Im in Melbourne and want to reolace yhe clutch return spring and also yhe slace cylinder. Can i book in wirh you?

I have problem On w205 how do I remove the seat base
This was EXACTLY what I needed. Thank you for posting this. You saved me a lot of confusion and possibly being swindled by a scammer. Very much appreciated!!!
this is not some timing issue, just put the belt on the pump side, and put it on the engine block. (as my memory)
How did you get it up like this?
some models can, I hit two doors model, need to fix it from the back😅
sure wish i could understand you
Hi guys. This video and just just about every other is missing important bits... so let me fill you in. Note - right hand drive car (uk) The main problem is removing the pedal, and no one shows you how to do it. They go from remove these nuts to pedal out in one move but thats the hardest bit. The top nut on the pedal is a damn nightmare. You need to undo the 10mm nut on the steering column and push it over to the brake pedal, this then gives you enough space to get your left arm in to the left side of the column and with a 13mm ratchet spanner undo the top nut. I would 100% remove the clocks as with a torch you can just see the top nut through the gap near where the base of the clocks are which makes it a lot easier, and taking the clocks out is a 5 minute job. On putting the pedal back i advise getting your hand in the same space, and poking that top nut through the aforementioned clocks gap with a telescopic magnet. You can then use your fingertips to spin the nut onto the thread with the magnet as backup. Re - removing the pedal.... Take out the pedal switch first by unplugging the plug loom and turning the switch 90 degrees to release it, and undo the white clip that holds in the cylinder rod. Now this is very important - YOU CANNOT remove the pedal with the master cylinder on, there is NOT enough room because of the hydraulic lines sticking out the back of it. After you have disconnected the hydraulic lines (and spilt brake fluid - the line to the cylinder is not long enough to lift it above the reservoir so you will drop some fluid so put a tray under the car to catch it) ....pull the pedal unit towards the rear of the car as much as possible. now grab the rear of the master cylinder (the bit that would be poking into the engine bay) and looking at it from your angle in the footwell, twist it anti-clockwise to release it. Once its out of the pedal you can easily wiggle the cylinder and the pedal out together. On refitting the cylinder, grease it up as trying to unlock it is hard enough but its a lot easier to spin it in with grease on. Have a few test runs before you put the pedal in situ. If someone had put this in to all these damn videos i couldve saved myself 2 hours 😂 Also when bleeding the clutch if you look from the front pass corner of the engine (right hand drive car) youll see where the line goes into the gearbox. There is a nut on the end of the line with a bleed nipple on, so connect a bit of washer hose to it and catch it in a pop bottle or something. Obviously you will need a mate to bleed the clutch up. Undo the nut, push clutch down slow tighten up, release clutch, undo nut, push pedal down and continue till the fluid runs clear with no air bubble. Also watch your fluid level in the reservoir when bleeding. This job isnt too hard, but its fiddley and you will 100% take the skin off the back of your hand. Time to do this job imo - 3 hours give or take. Hope this helps
I wish I had read your comment when I had got to the pedal can not be removed out of the bottom of the dash stage of the removal. The ford focus allows for the pedal to be removed but the additional aluminium structure in the c30 does not. I carried out the removal very similarly to yourself but to start the twisting of the master cylinder in the pedal bracket I had to use a screwdriver to help start it and similarly to get the new one to twist fully into position when reseated even with grease added to the bracket and pivot ball on the nylon clip to metal rod I could not twist it far enough by hand. Most of the procedure is done on your back over the sill looking up under the dash, I wouldn't bother removing the clocks if I ever did it again as a small light sat above the brake pedal lights the area to get the Flexi head ratchet spanner in to undo the top 13mm mounting nut. I will be posting a small video showing the clutch slave position when removing the pedal box assembly to hopefully help others in the future. I took around 3hrs, could have saved a little doing it again, but had to pressure bleed to get the pedal to return fully and all air out of system.
What’s the name of the two pieces ?that the motor is attached to the rail with please help
Thank you mr alan great tips
sorry no parts 😅
Is there any chance to repair the old pump ?
really useful for my C207 when the electric seat got stuck in the forward position. Better than the regular youtubers! Thanks.
Thanks for your video,I have a 2011 c30 t5 and I watched your video lot of the things you do was not necessary, I removed my master cylinder by making one hole just to fit #13 socket and for the one up to the cluster just my angle rachet I did it in one hr .
making hole?13mm is a big hole.
@@alanw5812just to fit 13mm socket not big, look at the diameter of a 13 mm. Socket.

Quick question, how to remove the plug from the seat motor. I am unable to unclip it.
Hi! 0:24 Grey color lock, move that lock back a littlt first, then pull the plug, if just refit the cable don't need to remove cable !
@@alanw5812 got it , thank you
Great tip I have this project coming up good to know to get the radiator from the front with the fans
You never show how to pull out clutch bracket with cylinder. Not good video.
You sir are a legend! Had a can of air freshener get lodged under the seat of my E class tonight while accessing back seats and the passenger seat was stuck far forward, watched your video and managed to get it back into place and working like normal again
Hi i have a Volvo C30 it will drive perfect but sometimes the clutch pedal will just stay on the floor and i have to lift it with my toe but then its fine again ,No grinding from gear box and i can not put it into gear without pressing the clutch ,Will it be the return spring?
Did you get this fixed? What was the problem?
@@zweetkonijn The slave cylinder ,massive job i need to change it but i may aswell change the Clutch while i am doing it ,Im just topping it up with Clutch fluid at the moment
Common issue is that the cable housing stretches a bit. Fix is to get a new cable made that is a mm or so longer by a speedo shop.
I seen to cables turn out half turn ,usually it's can be put it back .
@@alanw5812 yes, that can be put back in. But in a short time they may pop out again. When I had new cables done they never came out again. Up to you what you want to do. Your video is good in that it points out other issues that can be the cause of cable issues and should be checked for sure.
@@georgecurtis6463 usually I will put that side to fit to the rail side, because usually came off motor side.
@@alanw5812 ok, if it works then it works.sadly many of the ones I worked on were due to the outer housing of the cable stretching and not being able to hold the cable in place. So thus making longer cables. But if what you are doing works then more power to you. And yes, I tried many things to try and make it easily repairable but none lasted long if at all. As I was a tech and a shop owner I had to go the easiest and cheapest way that lasted.
@@georgecurtis6463 I think half of people watch my video are try to diy, repair it himself ,if can use again ,use it until it need to replace, save the earth 🌎 😉
Is this for 2008 s550 ? My numbers keeps going back to 0
Thank you, great video! 👍
Hi there, just wondering what your leak looked like under the car? I have oil all over my under carriage which I think is due to the filter housing. It is wet around the housing and I figure it could get blown around by the fans and driving wind. Also wonder if I could first try tightening the filter housing bolts slightly as a temporary fix.
my one was leak coolant middle of the housing, because it was a hole there.
if your oil filter cap no leak ,that should be the oil seal that because housing and engine block. suggest clean and check.
I did a 3.0 TDI oil filter housing there’s oil leaking out of a bolt hole at the bottom of the housing when I removed it thought it was strange put on the new filter housing and it seems like oil is leaking through the bolt hole. Any ideas?
Thank you for saving my sanity 😂
Can hardly understand you. Please speak up. Sorry this is a very poor video.
This was extremely tricky as my clutch assembly broke in the spring shot off. Thank you so much for posting this.
remove spank plugs crack the coolant out.
It was late when I was working on my car. I put coolant into the hose going to the throttle body, & tried to start the car after replacing my water pump. It turned over a little bit then stopped. I saw some smoke come from somewhere. What parts did I ruin? Now when I try to start, it’s not turning over at all.
He explained better then anyone else how to replace the under the seat motor.
everytime try to not just fix it, made it better than new.
So thats why my hand brake was too high, mine is 900 km. Thanks for sharing
they give you that manual book, should write down how many kicks, usually 3 to 7 on most cars.
You my friend are a genius. I just managed to remove mine with a long thin screwdriver. Thanks immensely 😉
youuuu
The nut in the top tensioner is a great idea. Currently doing one atm.
How can you fix the rail are not level already seat in an angle. Do you have to remove the screws to open up the bottom rail to adjust and level it up?
it always the short cable come off, before you put the cable back ,use the switch to only move the long cable side rail, this how I level both rails.😁
Hey boss where can u purchase that motor bracket trying to look everywhere online can’t find one
The motor is broken if The seat moves just up and down, The back side does not move? Or is The seat control buttons broken?
Mind the short size cable broken and I am waiting for Aliexpress to send me the replacement before I can fix my issue
Hi Alan i have a e350 and i can see where the bracket is bent which cause the seat not to move forward and back. I can hear the click when i press the button the head rest and up and down works the seat is stuck close to the dash board would i still be able to tilt it back to replace the bracket ?
so the two front bolts can't remove, see can do this, look under the car, see can find that two front nuts, after you fought, drill the bolts only, see you can use the nut again, good luck.😁
did you remove the bottom of the seat cushion to look or just look from under, see can repair after the cushion out.
@@alanw5812 hey thanks for the response upon further review of tilting the seat all the way in the up position i was able to look at it from the back of the seat. found out that the seat adjustment motor and the short drive pin is missing. so i will need to purchase another motor and short drive pin looks like its plug an play and it dont look like the bracket was bent it looks like someone took it. hopefully this is all i need. wish me luck 🤞
@@gman504ification usually have two or three motors, you can use other motor cable ,so you can move the seat back.
@@alanw5812 hey I was able to find a motor and guess what I got it working 💪🏾 thanks for the video it inspired me
how to pull out that small belting ?
If you are trying to remove the belt, there is a reverse thread bolt on it that you need to remove
My w220 s55 driver seat adjustment works everything except the bottom seat cushion in and out adjustment. What could it be
are you hear the motor work? if not check power.

Hmmmm, this could be the problem in my 01 s320. The seat was working (front of bottom section up/down), but now it isn't. I can hear the motor working but nothing happens. Hopefully as simple as this. Cheers
after fix, don't try to hold it to tight, it jump out because is for safety, cable tie is ok.
