Here's why organization is important - truck packout storage
This is why I like packouts. You could totally make something custom for probably less money but to have a system that is this easy to add organization wherever you want makes it more than worth it to me.

Woodshop ASMR: making a bureau
Переглядів 5324 місяці тому
A recurring customer reached out and asked if we could build a bureau to match some side tables we made for her a few years ago... this was a fun one.
Overengineering a camera stand... Its battery powered

Upgraded mobile camera stand! This fixes a couple issues I had the original. Adding the swivel allows me to place the arm exactly where I want it without having to move the whole unit. It also acts as a decoupler between the post and the camera so there is a lot less sway when the post flexes. This week I made a camera stand.

Making a better camera stand with some cabinet shop scraps. I like to try and make these types of projects with stuff we already have. This part was pretty simple as its all wood and a couple springs that i had to order but i did get creative with the swivel in the next video.
Can you do a shop tour? I am looking for ideas on table set up and tool organization and from what I can see in the back of this video I really like!
Nicely done. I think that is a great set up. Thank you for sharing.
I would recommend shadow foam for when you need more box organisation the black and red is top 👌
Часы прикольные 👍
Какой вес может удержать эта конструкция? Камеру Canon, на пример потянет
Yes, it would support a large camera as long as the springs were tensioned enough
0:34 это тоже ты сделал ?
Sort of, its an old dentist light that I put a new LED panel in
Это очень серьёзный механизм 👌😊 отлично придумал, можно даже на его и планшет повесить будет полезно.
Отлично 👍 👍👍👍 Меня что бы это повторить нужно только купить такой пикап 😂
Pro tip: Wrap your finished product in a moving blanket when it is in transit or being stored before it is installed or after it has been removed from the cabinets.
Yep, we could probably be better about remembering that. Of course it only takes one time not covering them for something bad to happen
Great job!!! Im in the garage now building my own packout base great for winter work
I will be setting up my truck first thing tomorrow 👍🏼
Super crispy!!
Super simple and super effective.
I think that's what I like the most, its one unit and took me an evening to make
I worked out of a pick up for a long time, the day I bought a three-quarter ton Chevy van and then upgraded to a one ton was a game changer.
Vans seem like the most efficient, what I forgot to mention in the video is that 90% of the time we're pulling a tool trailer so this is for the 10% when we don't need the trailer
How does the van do pulling a trailer?
Vans are the right tool for the job.
Vans can pull trailers but it won’t be as smooth as a truck. You really feel it going up any steep incline. Mostly if you want to pull a dump trailer. For a tool trailers they typically aren’t as heavy so it should be fine but you will feel the difference.
@@user-hy8oh1cy3q Try the 1 ton and the three-quarter ton Chevy work bands they’re amazing. They pull a lot differently than the Dodge and the Ford because of the wheelbase. Our Chevy 1 tons are amazing right now the company has I think 13 of them and they pull dump trailers no problem, mind you they’re not a diesel. I am not trying to say that they are but they are very efficient at pulling a load very smoothly due to its wheelbase and one ton chassis and the big V6 gas engine. Their time tested and you will put a gazillion miles on them and they hold up really well lots of room you’ll love it.
👍
👍
Excellent walk through. I always enjoy packout content.
Me too
Great work, but visually it looks stupid af against a white wall
Ah, yeah in this shot I can see where you're coming from but there's other woodwork on the same wall that it matches
Nice design!!
Really awesome channel - keep it up
It’s not even bolted down to the floor, bloody stupid! When you break hard that will go through the windscreen
Yea no that not how that works
Get a van, trucks are stupid!
Lol
Sweet
Fantastic. One of the best Packout demo/how-to videos I’ve ever seen. Thanks!
Great videos keep it up
Also, I feel like you might dig the work of Tom Sachs. Look him up! He creates some unique things
Will do!
You just showed up on my feed, new sub. Wondering why you stapled it all rather than spray adhesive? Also the cubby underneath, whats going on under the platform - is that the tracksaw guide I'm seeing, what about levels - is that what goes in there? Anyways looking good, you're pretty young to be this well organized for sure. My f250 extended cab is loaded up with lots of stuff but lack the proper organization, although I KNOW where EVERYTHING IS in the 'organized' chaos of milk crates, buckets & packout\dewalt organizers! 😂🤔😅👍🏻👌🏻🛠️🔧🔩
Thanks for the sub! I did have some carpet adhesive that I just didn't want to mess with haha spray adhesive would've been a good middle ground. Yes the track guide is underneath and there's room for expansion. Left it open ended so I have options.
fun box
subjectively
A tip you can use pipe or pex clamps screwed to the side of your box you made. That would let you lock in the step stool and clip it in so it do not rattle. Consider a veto kp van organizer to hanging on the back seat to store common use chemicals and quick grab stuff. you only need 2-4 inches to access it easily. I know everything is containted but people get hurt by flying objects from back seats consider a Subaru dog cage pannel to protect you or any metal kennel pannels with zip ties work. The last bit the space you can eak out is one of thoes cargo nets and span it across the ceiling using the handles/coat hanger hooks. I use one of thoes for rags soft good long things that are light. That net also allows you to hang a great bright overhead light easily.
Those are some great ideas, I did consider the possibility of stuff flying to the front seat but hadn't though of a net or cage to block it off
Many people have made every inch of there back seats work for them. Morgan's maintenance had a good cabnet/packout combo. I run a toyta matrix with drawers and such kinda like a mini mini van. The options are endless
The reason other than more space to clip things on to be handy is a story that happened days ago in Oregon. Guy in a s10 got rear ended by drunk driver took a 12in cast iron pipe wrench to the back of the head. You know the s10 extended cab has only a small amount of space so if it got him never know 👍.
Awesome 👌🏼🔥
Does it move around at all? I built one for my truck and it was rocking back and forth but it's probably because I have an extended cab and my floor isn't level
Use husky kneeler mats or horse stall bed mats nothing moves on thoes when they get weight on them. It takes up space and is heavily anti skid.
Yeah this one is almost perfectly flat, the floor mat helps keep it from walking but it still does sometimes
Nice 👍🏽
This is a great video and build. Thank you for sharing. Got many ideas I’d like to try with my own setup. Thanks.
You should get the Milwaukee stapler
I really should...
killing me that was the first thing i saw and was gonna comment. Out of all the tools he has the one he could use the most is the m12 stapler. It was a half and a half hand cramp watching you.
That dewalt stapler is actually a lot easier to squeeze than other brands, also very light
I have that dewalt carbon fiber stapler too but once you go powered you never go back. Makes you feel like a cave man 😆
this is sick
Merry Christmas! Trailer Tour next?
Yes please😆😆😊
Id watch that!
Can’t wait for the next project so cool!
Thanks! Its in the works
>1st base didn't work out sorry bud, women are like that sometimes
just realized you stole that chamfer on the front edge from my project
That may have had an influence, it also matches the chamfers on the desk tho
Corded headphones ftw.
Yeah I have corded headphones for editing etc. Way more comfortable. I use the usb-c cord mostly for file transfers
bro that things finna tickle my leg outa no where while im casually playing vido games im good
Watch it again, the cord is housed inside a box under the desk top

I just threw away the exact pair of headsets because the muff broke off. Whole right ear piece. Popped off my head. Good cable management btw.
Thanks! Lol yeah mine are starting to fall apart a bit but I do abuse them pretty good.
