I had a pour of this wonderful whiskey a little over a month ago. Does not drink like 100 proof, and opens up amazingly as it breathes. It is a bit expensive at $140 a bottle, but worth it.

You begin with an advertisement for alcohol dependency!! Twisted! Then you move onto advertising your booze. Twisted rubbish!!! I don't drink, thankfully. The taste alone is repulsive enough to keep me away. Doesn't the world have enough problems without booze?

I recently picked up a bottle of the George Remus Bourbon 94 proof and they now have the same label as the This 109 proof Highest Rye Bourbon minus the mash bill & 6-year age statement on the label. It's so tasty I am going to have to pick up a bottle of this! 🥃Cheers!

Good value pretty smooth

I think Horse Soldier bourbon is the worst tasting panther piss I've ever had in 45+ years of drinking bourbon. I bought it in support of our military, but it is what it is, and to me it's awful.

I saw this for $58 at my Sam’s Club, wish I had gotten it.

Tried it twice to be sure and was not a fan. If you love drinking maraschino cherry juice straight from the jar then you will love this.

Interesting they claim the Gem is the only double single barrel. I have 2 peerless picks that are both double oaked single barrel (one bourbon, one rye).

Not a glowing review however this is typical of Texas whiskies. For how it’s distilled and aged it is different. I’m all for Still Austin they certainly have a great individual making their whiskies.

You can find the date of the bottling by looking at the laser code if it was bottled after 2007. There is also a two digit number on the bottom of the glass that will give you the year the glass bottle was produced, which gives you a good estimate. Anything bottled until 2002 is probably Stitzel Weller. Anything bottled between 2003 and 2006 is probably Bernheim. Anything bottled between 2007 and 2009 is probably a mix of Bernheim and BT. Anything bottled after 2010 is probably 100% BT. Most of this is speculation since these details have never been published.

You are mistaking the MVR annual release for the Dair Gaelic series release. Midleton Very Rare 2023 Vintage Release is not finished in virgin Irish oak.

My wife surprised me with this bottle for my birthday, and it was my introduction to Jefferson's whiskeys. You're right, the complexity of this on the mouth is fantastic, like all 5 blends are introducing themselves one at a time. Somewhat pricey, but compared to some allocated unicorns, I think you're getting your money's worth with this bottle. Cheers!
