I run a 41 roller chain from tractor supply on my customer bikes that I build for them

You don’t want to push the seals in too far the motor will be greatly bogged down. Just want to put that out there for everyone. I’ve been working on these bikes and building them for customers for 20 years. Believe me. I d recommend only putting 2 stroke oil or grease on the inside of the seal and a small amount. On the outside I use permatex moto seal the grey one and I apply it to the outside of the seal, ( lightly ) and absolutely do not push it in hard at all just get it past the lip or you will be doing it again. If done correctly you should get well over 2000 miles before the next one needs to be replaced

Hi Joseph, I see this video is 5 years old. What is the name of the biggest reed available nowadays? Or what is the name of the reed bigger than the OZ reed you are talking about in the video. I'm thinking of buying a YD100 and combining it wirh a window piston and reed valve + carb.

I have a high performance engine..and it keeps snapping the stock chain..don't want a #41 due to being too wide..but a stronger 415..but don't trust too many sites to actually sell me the correct chain and not a knock off of the same #415 stock chain...

How do you get to the one on the other side?

Thanks for the tip. But I have a problem, my crank seals are very difficult to fit. I have tried to lubricate with wd40 and knock them in with a suitable metal sleeve, they break and seem too big for the crankcase. I'm an experienced mechanic and have changed a lot of gaskets over the years, but these do not want to fit. Do you have any advice? Have a good day / Per lidberg #motorizedbicylesweden

I just went through this and this is what I learned. Upgrading from piston port to reed valve needs window piston and intake transfer port to work properly. Reed valves need access to the case through the entire engine cycle. The window gives access at tdc the intake port gives access at bdc. The intake transfer port channel you have to cut into the cylinder fills in the gap during the stroke. Reed valve will work with intake transfer port alone but a window piston makes it work even better.

I’ll realest one more time that exhaust holds them engines back a lot take off the front cap of it to allow better air flow but I suggest some kind of dirt bike pipe I got a fat belly expansion chamber at the moment cheap amazon pipe and it gave me lots of torque I love building these two strokes into speed Desmond

You need an expansion chamber with that stock pipe it holds the engine back does not allow enough air flow you need to learn a little more about it man if you can’t get it done with two strokes why do it lol these things are simple you’re trying to get speed exhaust and porting helps then sprocket reduction helped me even more now I got high compression head made my own windowd piston and got the oz Reed my bike is almost at 50 just need to go from a 36 tooth to a 32 tooth hoping to get faster than 50

So which reed valve are you saying is the one that doesn't work? I got all the information after a second time but not the "small reed" - the o e tou ha e on there is the small one I thought- it has four leaves right? The big one that covers the whole side has six?

Can't get the nut that holds clutch on to break loose. Turning it counter clockwise but won't release. I tried holding the nut on the sprocket for leverage and the sprocket nut broke free but not the clutch nut.

I tell everyone to stay far far away from the Runtong (RT) carb NT True speed carb is the only way to go.

its not supposed to be aluminum thats the whole reason you upgrade to 12g to make it stronger you cant go stronger if u go from 14g steel to 12g aluminum
