The clear housings for the headlights and the LED brake lights you can find as a kit on eBay as well for around $150. So my center console is locked in the up position. it's a 96 1500. I need to know does it have a lock or something keeping it up or what

    • @zekeworst9193
      @zekeworst9193 8 місяців тому

      There is a “keeper” of sorts that will hold it in the up position. All the keeper is supposed to do is keep it from falling back down when there’s no one in the seat (like if you hit a bump or brake hard or something like that). I have heard of other those things getting stuck before but I don’t know how that mechanism works so I wouldn’t be able to tell you how to get it back down without potentially breaking something. What I will say is this: It IS possible to remove the center console with it being vertical however it may be a little harder to do than if it were to be down. Also, if you’re going to be replacing it anyway, I’d go ahead and try to do what you can to get it back down (if you’re able and if you haven’t tried to already (I read on a forum somewhere that a handful of people were able to get it back down by lifting upwards while simultaneously pushing it back down) but be careful doing so because you don’t want to bend or break the tracks that the console slides into or onto. If you aren’t able to get it down, don’t worry about it. Just do it with it being in its current position. Hope this helps!

      There’s two bolts on one side (IIRC, on the right) that you will have to remove first. Once you do that, the jump seat should slide right off of its rail.

    Great video, We have 55 of these training bikes for our school and all are starting to lose the clutch. This made it very easy for this shade tree mechanic to complete the task. I didn't have a notch or dot either on the final plate but it had 3 teeth with numbers. I used the middle of the three as the notch and worked great. 5 down and 50 more to go. Thanks again!
