Learn Halloween Signs in Auslan (Australian Sign Language)
It's October again time to practice my Halloween signs. This is a great resource.
I loved the interaction between the two presenters. So cute. BSL and Auslan are such amazing languages.
Many of those BSL signs were Australian signs before 1980.
Nice video! Although BSL and Auslan would be completely different languages right, not just different accents? ~:~
Good point! Correct. I cant remember why I put in accents. Yes BSL & Auslan are different sign languages - similar but still different.
I am Autistic and i am learning AUSLAN and i find it easier to learn AUSLAN than to learn spoken languages. Signs are easier for me to remember than words.
I'm also autistic and wanting to try learning sign language for when I go nonverbal to try to communicate with my partner. I'm a visual learner and a hands on, I hope it'll be as easy for me as it is for you!
@@AstroTokki I think you should give it a try. AUSLAN is one of my special interest and some of the signs feel satisfying to do. I like the sign for old and the sign for new.
I'm also autistic, I wonder if we're more attracted to sign language than neurotypicals
@@edgbarra I think we are. I think the Autistic brain is more visual than the NT brain 🧠
You teach so clearly
That's so awesome! Even online we're very grateful for your contribution to helping us learn how to sign!! Please keep up the good work!
But there are scientific studies that show that learning a foreign language (including ASL) comes easier to some people than to others thanks to genetic, environmental, and limited timing factors. I just started my first ASL class for college and because it's a summer 1 minimester class, I've been thrown into the deep end on day one. I'm basically out of my depth on this.
Hi! Sorry you are struggling with learning. It’s possible you’re being taught many signs at once. It’s really good to start with the foundations first. And it depends on your teacher’s teaching style. I have a lot of success with students learning to sign, but I have a specific way of teaching it. I do make it easy & fun to learn. Sadly I do not teach ASL, I teach Auslan & BSL. Best of luck with it. You could try a different teacher or different signing school.
Thank you Lisa! 🙏
This is so sweet and helpful, thank you so much
love this!
Haha, that was fun. Thanks y'all 😆
Thank you! :)

Thank you the deaf community needs more people showing sign language & teaching people whom want to learn yous are awsome 🙏👌💯
I'm a language student and for some reasons I've always been fascinated with sign language. The thing is, I live in Italy so probably ASL would be useless here. :(
you could always learn LIS ? :)
@@nathanhalim7378lis is?
@@notwerkinginthishouse8634 "LIS (Lingua dei Segni Italiana)" or Italian sign language
As an Australian born in Britain, I must say Auslan seems a lot more intuitive and representative of the actual word. I’m sure a lot of hearingpeople could pick up words from Auslan that would be totally lost in BSL
Really interesting to see the two side by side and compare the difference as well as the similarities.
Excuse my ignorance, but I’m still confused as to what BSL is, I haven’t heard if it before? Is it spoken in Australia and is indeed a different ‘accent’? If so, from an outsiders perspective it appears you’d need to learn each language to understand it.
It was told in the start of the video 💀 it called British Sign Language
Auslan = Australia sign language BSL = British sign language
@@sonnyjimm23 ah. That makes so much sense. Lol. My bad. Thanks 👍
Yes the video says different "accents" but really Auslan and BSL (as well as ASL, and all other sign languages) are completely different _languages,_ not just accents/dialects, although these do exist within the languages as well. ~:~
This is great!
But it is hard :(
But are you learning with me?
You can do it!
Learn sign language in Russian, easy.

Ah, gorgeous Lotus. "Stop being mean to Daddy!" (or was she telling Dad to stop?). Nonetheless, this is a really valuable video depicting authentic Auslan use in the home that I'll be showing my Auslan students. Cheers.
You’re a good actor lol
What a great video 👻
Lol
Thank you for teaching the correct way of pranayama. ❤
that girl is so cute- "NO DADDY!!"
Hi

Very nice
great phrases, thanks so much!
Not subscribing to your channel..ur topic is including deaf in your conversatio. And yet u are not signing, despicable
Hi Roy, I don’t sign & speak well at same time. Most people don’t. I prefer to either sign or speak to do each language justice. As these deaf awareness videos are for non-signing hearing audiences I have chosen to speak. And have provided captions for deaf people if they want to follow me. I sign plenty on the inside of my online courses. 😊 I’m a deaf bilingual person who switches between sign or speech.
She still put cc
thanks for all these signs!!!!
little things we may not thnk of make all the difference. Thankyou.
good tips Lisa - will make sure to use them :)
Thank you for posting this insight.
Thank you for sharing this Lisa.... this was great to share on FB for all to see how to include people with a hearing loss. We need to make the world a better place.
Where’s the freebie, Lisa?
Oh no I forgot! Will add that in tonight. Thanks for letting me know. 😅
Hearing loss or having no hearing & having no one who`ll sign is like having no mother tongue of language. The best to be hoped for is you`ll` look at the other person like the dog staring back with that I don`t get it expression ?
This is good commonsense & well explained . Thanks again Lisa.
Wonderful, thank you. I love the costumes.
I very much appreciate this video. Thankyou
Tysm I needed this for school work(cheating)hehe
That was sow heartwarming!! Nearly was crying of happiness!!
