No this engine code is CRTD.

Wich chain the big one on the v6 or the smaller for oil pump,tensioner come lose with open engine?or u meen the car is running and u have a noise?

If u did touch the timing and u put all electrical part back with main sensor reset and fuel in could start

i only just change timing chain i put engine back and engine notstart.from ecu no power to injectors

From online Google or u can find vw/audi groups but need to register urself and is 2 tipes with the engine,1 with oil pump on the timing and 1 separate underneath 1 additional small chain and tensioner

Hi thats is fine to move it needs for the strech but the chain if is very loose u need to check with new one side to side and see winch one is bending more thats a bad one and replaced the full kitt

you said is normal about balance shaft?

long chain tensioner is moving up and down

What i know from maim dealer every 5 years or from new 37000->70000->120000 and so on

maybe never change oil if have problem with timing chain

What year u have ur Q7?i had before Q7 2007 and the timing kit with all bolts and gaskets around 450-600£from Audi dealers best(garage500£-1000£) and ur engine timing could be in front so is easy to change,my audi now A7 2014 timing is in the middle,between gearbox and engine, myself just kit 700£(garage 1200£-1500£)

@@victormacsek sorry for late replying, yes it's a 2012 Q7 3.0tdi , the hydraulic tensioner is going at 900rpm fine when its warm at 750rpm but when I throttle the engine their is a rattle when the revs come back down again, was quoted £3600 including vat from a audi specialist that includes a transmission full oil change and all engine fluids and seals. I think I might get the starter motor done as well while the engine is out so another £200 ouch 😬

@@leehopkins6983 ok is a bit to much but i think that issue comes from oilpump i will check next week 1 audi with the same problem,timing been done but the noise still in,if the oil pump is on same chain with timing then yes but if not check the oil pump chain and tensioner first u start the big job,and for that money they could replace that start motor in same time just pay for part

@@leehopkins6983 hi just find the 2nd rattling coming from the gearbox not from the oil pump wich i though will be but i find the issue with a sound sistem machine special for cars and i find that gearbox need new oil and filter after 170000miles on the gearbox,fresh oil made the smother the sound inside

Before with the old engine at 72000miles,the prestige company they put new engine wich is now on the car and the problem start at 30000miles,but soon i will start the engine and i think i know where is the issue with this engines,is on tensioner from the long chain wich it didn't had a rubber washer and new kit had it on so i think old tensioner it lost pressure that's why it was rattling

Hi fine the other rattling noise and it comes from the gearbox wich maine dealers said id oil for life for gearbox but is not i replaced the filter and the gear box oil and the sound of rattling gone

@@victormacsek you changed the oil in the Stronic or in a manual side?

@@piotrlenczowski3823 s tronic(u need to change always any auto or manual is u feel u have gaps or longer shifts u definitely need new oil front and back gearbox and filters,i better for gearbox life every 100kmiles
