Cheese freezes really well. I buy it in bulk from Sam’s for the best deal per ounce. I break it up into smaller portions and then freeze it. I take it out as I get low on what’s in the fridge. And I’ve also found the best deal on meat is Sam’s when they have their deals like $2 off of chicken or deals on the hamburger rolls. I will buy it in bulk then break each tray into portion sizes and use my food saver to pack it up to store in the freezer. I’ve also started making all of our bread products. I will make it in bulk then freeze it in portions. Bread freezes well and I can have a couple weeks worth on hand. I think you’d be amazed at how much money you would save. I also stopped buying anything pre packaged for the most part. You would be shocked at how much of your budget you could save by not buying pre packaged foods and making your own. I know the initial cost of buying in bulk from Sam’s can be a crunch, but if you get past the first shopping trip you can get in the rhythm and not have to buy as much. Try spending your $500 plus the $160 at Sam’s, do a monthly trip and then your $500 monthly trip to Aldi. After that keep your eye on the weekly sales at your stores. Only buy what’s on sale. Build your meals around the sales and you can save tons of money and get more for your money. Janice over at Ozark Family Homestead does a fantastic job of explaining and showing you how to do this. She has 7 kids plus her and her husband and keeps her monthly food budget under $1100. It’s hard to adjust at first, but after a couple of months you’ll be in the swing of things. I started doing things this way a handful of years ago and started making more from scratch as the years have gone buy. I’ve not only gotten my budget under control but the food tastes better and is better for my family. I hope this all makes sense to you. I feel your struggle and frustration. It is hard now a days. But little changes all add up over time. And the less your in the store the less you’ll spend.

Add up all the money that you spend on junk food. I bet the amount will shock you. Stop buying the processed junk and you will save money. Try fruit, popcorn, even peanut butter sandwiches for snacks. Healthy snacks will fill them up and save you money. Good Luck

Wow! Your budget for a family of 9 is $660!? Our budget for a family of 6 is $780 and that only includes the food and household consumables. Something that helps me stay under budget is doing a big shopping trip for the month at Costco, Kroger, and Walmart and then doing weekly trips to only Kroger for sales and fresh perishables.

It will help your know what you need for a grocery budget if you’re only buying food and household consumables with your grocery budget. The hand towels, head phones, fridge organizers, underwear…. don’t count as groceries.

Hello, seeing you for the 1stvand grandma age. IT appears you are randomly ordering/buying instead of thinking through what is needed. It sounds like you have your hands full but as the other comment stated maybe try to meal plan at least 3 to 4 meals a week. If your normal is to shop every week meal plan for a week and a half this should be a good start on your spending and what is really needed.

New to your channel I've watched I think twice I live alone so I can't really give any advice but I've watched other channels that have meal plans and don't go to the store all week long just once a week but like I said I live alone so I don't know it sounds like you have a lovely family 😊
