This video looks at the way temperature affects an aircraft altimeter readings, and shows how to calculate an aircraft's True altitude when you know Outside Air Temperature (OAT) and indicated altitude. Two methods and demonstrated: one as an estimate, and the other using a navigation computer such as the Jeppesen CR3 or APR CR6.

    Is the CR3 you use and App? Where can I get that to use on my computer or iPad?

    • @indiankitchenonline9871
      @indiankitchenonline9871 3 роки тому

      No this is not an app, it is a non electronic aviation “computer”. One side of the device has function that include a circular slide rule, while the reverse side (the one in this video) is able to be used to perform calculations to do with an aircraft’s speed, direction of flight and the effect of wind.

      possibly to be more clear - you show a representation of one on your video and manipulate it. I have the E6B app on my phone and i'm hoping there is one for the CR3 as well. I like it better

    Please pardon me, but TC does NOT stand for "course made good (confusing), it's "True Course"! Also, I didn't catch where the 150 came from. I assume this video is to demonstrate how a pilot can figure out wind changes during flight vs. what the Wx report stated on the ground prior to his flight, am I correct? You didn't state your purpose at the beginning of your video. Thank you for your graphics--they're excellent!
