Asakusa is a popular tourist spot in Tokyo that is full of downtown atmosphere, and is a place where you can experience history, tradition, and Japanese culture. The Kaminarimon Gate of Sensoji Temple is a classic photo spot for tourists, and Nakamise-dori is lined with shops where you can experience Japanese culture, such as Japanese sweets, ningyo-yaki, and kimono rentals. Asakusa is also close to nearby tourist attractions such as Asakusa Hanayashiki, Sumida River Cruise, and Tokyo Skytree, making it an ideal base for sightseeing in Tokyo. Traditional festivals and events such as the Sanja Matsuri are also held here, making it a place where you can experience Japanese culture throughout the seasons.
