First all i wanted was a Doomwheel, then a basic skaven army.. oh I want to collect Tzeench demons too, better collect chaos 40k army for value.. oh new blood angels, if i was to ever get into space marines it would be blood angels.. oh crap I now have 2 years worth of crap to paint and Ive barely gotten though a spearheads box.

    IDK I'm not ashamed. I have several boxes so I always have something to look forward to. I don't open a new box until I'm done with the previous one, so they're all sealed. Worst case scenario is I will quit the hobby someday and re-sell them on e-bay at a premium because by then they'll be old and rare sets😮

      Ofc, no problem. Do make sure you use thin coats! If you try to apply one thick coat it might become a bit cloudy/frosty, which might ruin your nice guitar project. Hope it works out great :)

    • @tabletop-craftsman
      @tabletop-craftsman 3 місяці тому

      With my own projects I usually do only one coat, because you have to be very careful with miniatures in general. But for bigger stuff, like gaming boards which get a lot of use and get touched a lot I do at least 4 or 5 coats. So that might also be good for your guitar since you'll probably be handling it a lot.

    Hi there, fellow Dutchman. I have been using Spectrum cans for some time now as well. Interesting to note, Action sells white paint and white primer. I have had little trouble with the white (actual) primer, and more of a problem with the white paint spray can (such as the pooling you mentioned). Also, these cheaper cans need some work. A little more agressive shaking, the right temperature when you spray. That sort of extra care. They work fine otherwise. Of course, with the Dutch climate you just never know when the right temperature might be. Regarding the grey primer, that has never been a miss for me. One fine dusting of grey primer, followed by the white or black sprays and you should be set for success. Funny question. Where do you live? (No need to actually answer publicly, of course, just food for thought) but I get the feeling Action sort of randomises their supplies when sent to the various locations. I never found a black primer, just matt black spraypaint cans. Perhaps that is why I have had some problems with black priming, as opposed to priming grey, and then using black to, well, paint it black. In my opinion, the grey primer and the white primer, if handled properly, can handle regular acrylic paints just fine, and I have had some success with Citadel Contrast paints too. Cheerio.

    • @tabletop-craftsman
      @tabletop-craftsman 5 місяців тому

      Hi there! Didn't know they also had an actual white primer. I think they do offer more spray now then they did when I made that video, they also have green, pink and some other colors now. Maybe it's different per store, I'm not sure, I'll have a look at another Action soon if they have different stuff. Also, I think the black primer I used might not even have been a primer in hindsight, but I still use it to this day and get great results! And thanks for letting me know! I'll try the white primer as well to see if I get better results. Have a nice day :)

    Nice video! My favorite skirmish is "Future Shock" from cult of crunchpop. Its a ruleset divided into 7 mini-zines. Each a dollar. Everything you need to play a low model count skirmish on 1x1 or 2x2 feet in a sci fi, fantasy or "anything you like"-setting. They also have other small rulesets like: -"crunchies" (space goblin gang fights) -"armada Strikeforce (mech fighting on a hex map) -1944 combatshock (more complex version of future shock in a ww2 setting) -metalstorm (another take on a fantasy skirmish) ... and many more! But my go to for completely free skirmish would be "planet 28" and its fantasy counter-part... Brutal-something? And if you want to use a chessboard: "Brawl Arcane 28"... So much fun! You only need a chessbiard, 4 minis each and around 6 terrain pieces to block fields on the board. So good! Much older but free and a bit more suited for mech-fans: "meatbot massacre" is old but gold! It has a realy nice gamemechanism when it comes to moving, attacking and defending... And you can "steal" the equipment of slayin enemies! A "modern version" of this concept was made by "bill making stuff" and is called "bangarang in the Gutterlands"... It is not related to meatbot massacre but somehow it reminds me of that... It plays more like "Tonks" (same author) with a twist. All free. Thanks for the informations in your video.

    5:1 paint to buy ratio seems really high to me, and might be unrealistic for some people who paint very slowly or purchase a lot of kits.
