Jai ce vinyl depuis des annees😊
This is running very slow.
Hello i had for got about him
The group was called Solar Plexus. San Francisco Bay Area, from 1976-1982. This is from the group's 4th album (of 5 total), "Earth Songs" (1980) on Inner City Records. I joined the group in 1978 on violin and viola and am the player heard here. Here is a link to the complete Earth Songs album: ua-cam.com/video/0NIYCIF3I5U/v-deo.html
@@sirqitous yeah I have the whole album on vinyl. I have friend who goes by suplex that was brain fart in my part. I will re title my apologies. I really appreciate this information I was curious if this solar plexus was the same as the Swedish group. I was actually tryna find more of solar plexus san Fran’s music but I found the Swedish group who also makes prog
@@GreatLakeOCrates Completely different group from the one in Sweden. I think our group predates that one, though! We existed from 1976 to 1982 (I was in the group the last 4 years of it, and also for our brief 2012 reunion). I think there's a 3rd group out there named Solar Plexus that made albums. Solar Plexus' subsequent and last LP "Solar Plexus #5" had a different trumpeter/composer/co-leader, so sounded pretty different, though I thought we were improved. The master tapes for "Solar Plexus #5" had sat decaying for 30 years, when the leaders thankfully decided to master it and release it in 2012: ua-cam.com/play/OLAK5uy_nITCTfyF9QqrR3hOznJZ9SlpJ4c6HxPxo.html&si=pGUc4fKBgsg0u9uG

I don’t think so. But I like to imagine every song has been sampled.
Never heard a single sample of this or any other track from this album, in the 44 years since its release!

First part of vocal is just amazing journey

Ce chef d'oeuvre des années 70, était diffusé en discothèque et il mériterait une réédition en CD !... super souvenir, belle composition.

Damn, Thanks. I might have to flip that rn
I love Herbie Mann. Definitely underappreciated. Makes me think of my mom and the huge crates she used to have.

Interesting - although this is stylistically very much in the Mothers' prog-fusion vocabulary, it's clear that Frank didn't write it. That's not a matter of quality - it's a fine tune. It's that it has a different melodic sense, one quite unlike FZ's. Perhaps it sounds a bit more like Chick Corea, but not really like him, either.
Right on
This piece overlaps Zappa's compositional style in a number of notable ways - melodically, harmonically, rhythmically & orchestrationally, it shows a strong Zappa influence throughout. There's no one melodic mode, harmonic progression or genre that can define or pigeonhole Zappa's composition; he did it all, if it's music, he did it. Hard-pressed to name a genre that he didn't explore, from doo-wop to opera, jazz to shred metal & everything in between. This sounds a lot like Zappa for many reasons, & could just as easily have been written by him, could easily pass for a Zappa piece in a blindfold test where one doesn't know who wrote it to begin with.
