    • @th3bmc
      @th3bmc 3 місяці тому

      It uses 0.3kWh an hour if set well above the room temp. So the average UK price right now (October 2024) is around 23p, so this would use just shy of £0.07 an hour. You may want to check your energy tariff to tailor it to your price per kWh.

    What's the minimum temperature you can set the panel at? I'd like to hang it in the shed to keep it above freezing in Winter. So minimum temperature 0 or 1 degree. Can it be set at that, or is the minimum 10?

    Thanks for this. It helped me realize bifacial panels and a pergola is what we need for our desert house. We need shade badly and we need solar so this is the logical solution. 20-30% more energy harvest for the bifacial panels would be great as we cannot afford to build a huge pergola.

    No one will ever convince me to deploy a solar system that is capable of supplying power for my entire home (around 2000 sq ft). Even though I live in the valley of the sun (Phoenix, AZ), it makes a lot more sense to build a smaller off-grid system that will supply enough power for my master bedroom suite (around 400 sq ft). I'm halfway there, with a 1.2kw system that will be "cloned" to create a parallel tied system giving me a total of 2.4 kw potential (peak sunshine). I'm really pleased with the performance so far but need to save money before I can move forward and finish the project (and things are not getting any cheaper). Thank you for sharing this...

    I think you mean waves not light it does not emit light in this case as there is nothing from which the light would come.

    • @th3bmc
      @th3bmc 6 місяців тому

      Definition - Infrared Radiation: Infrared heaters emit infrared radiation, which is a form of light that is invisible to the human eye but can be felt as heat. Side notes: thermal imaging cameras wouldn't work if it wasn't for Infrared light, Just because we can't see it doesn't mean it's not there. Infrared bulbs aren't as efficient so give off some visible light above the infrared spectrum.

    • @flitsies
      @flitsies 6 місяців тому

      @@th3bmc so what you're saying is that infrared light is being emitted from a metal plate that does not get hot enough to glow, interesting. From all the other places I have been looking at regarding these they all say they emit waves not light, far infrared not near infrared, apparently it is said near is harmful to the eyes as that gives off light. However I am willing to learn something new in relation to these things so will have to dig deeper. But normally things only give off light so I have always been given to understand if they produce light waves, which normally means some kind of glow. As these don't glow at all never get hot enough I don't quite see where the light would come from even invisible light to the eyes. I will look it up some more, interesting thoughts thanks.

    • @flitsies
      @flitsies 6 місяців тому

      @@th3bmc OK had a quick look to see what it says about far infrared and it turns out i was correct, far infrared does not give off any kind if light at all, it seems to be closer to the microwave electromagnetic spectrum so no light just waves. But you did have me going there for a moment. What you described was near infrared something different and can be harmful to our eyes, far infrared is harmless so they say.

    I have this TV. It’s turned itself off and on again but I understand that may have been resolved. I kept losing connectivity on wireless, had to reset TV and do reinstall several times, and now two months since purchase, I cannot even connect it at all. Been through support, even had software upgrade via USB stick and still an issue. Now having to wait for a hardware repair. Not a small tv and mine is mounted 6ft up on the wall so it has not been easy to plug in usb sticks or get serial numbers when required. Totally disappointed in this TV, never been able to use the full functionality, wish I had contacted tech support sooner, instead of trying to find a solution myself - which hasn’t worked, because now I am stuck with this TV, waiting for a hardware repair - which I hope does not fix the issue so I can return it and get a better TV rather than be stuck with this current dumb TV. Would not recommend. Cross your fingers the hardware doesn’t resolve the issues so I can take it back to Argos and get a better brand.
