There’s a clip of Steve & Eydie on that same episode posted by the Ed Sullivan Show. They are singing Real True Loving and Steve is in the same double breasted tux, but Eydie is in yet another dress!😊
Eydie had a lot of gowns! I recall Steve remarking that every time she left the stage it cost him money. 😄
@ Yes, that was one of his regular quips! 😀
That high note she hit at the end of the first song was so crisp and clear and beautiful.
Oh yeah, Eydie could really hit those high notes! Her vocal range was extraordinary.😊
❤❤❤❤
😀
Thank you for leaving in the NBC peacock!
😊
Ahhh...when television actually entertained. I miss those days.
Yes, indeed! 😊
Is it just me Eydie didn't look at Steve the whole time singing Dear World and he did? I know she doesn't have too.
🤔Difficult to say why.
I think it’s just the way it’s choreographed. Steve was more comfortable with choreography. Of course, Steve grinned at her flat out when she missed the lyric!
@@alissaballot3169 Good observation.
@@alissaballot3169 Oh wow. I always thought he couldn't dance. Not judging. I have watch this video numerous times and I honestly don't know what lyric she missed.
@@ellengutknecht4994The lyric miss is at about 3:23 or 3:24. She sings “keep your courage up” twice, while Steve correctly sings “keep your fever down” the first time. And yes, Steve could dance. For example, he tap danced with Gene Kelly in the Gershwin special - Our Love Is Here to Stay.
This is one of the best songs written by Jerry Herman! Eydie knows how to sing Jerry Herman songs! Her version of If He Walked into My life is the DEFINITIVE version!!! The tune featured in this awesome video is from Mack and Mable, considered by many as the finest musical Mr. Herman wrote!!
Eydie pours her heart and soul into her music. She is the best. 🙂
RIP Steve Lawrence, you're with Eydie Now, thanks for the wonderful music!!!
Life is eternal and love is immortal...💗
unmatched excellence!
Steve and Eydie were the total package. Artistry, chemistry and showmanship. 💗
Miss them and new entertainment like this on TV. Variety entertainment shows are few now and usually just specials.
I agree. There are still some wonderful entertainers out there but they're seldom on TV.
i miss these 2
Yes, Steve and Eydie were wonderful entertainers. Their music and memories live on.
This is beautiful ❤...love you
Thank you. I'm glad you enjoyed it. 💗
Every time I see these 2 they are the very best. There was Noone else like them!
They were a treasure!
Just beautiful on this their wedding day in 1957. The love they had till the end.
Yes, Steve and Eydie were a wonderful example of true love and commitment - especially in the entertainment industry. They certainly had their priorities straight.
Love this! Thanks for posting!
You are welcome!
I think they also did Golden Rainbow on a Hollywood Palace, but I haven’t seen the Dear World clip before. Where was Eydie coming from at the beginning of Dear World? (I saw Dear World, which starred Angela Lansbury- not great.)
Eydie is joining Steve on stage just after he completed his solo, “I’ve Gotta Be Me.”
@ Thanks!
Thanks for posting. I have been looking for this.
You are welcome!
Wonderful❤
Thank you. 🙂
Thank you for posting.
You are welcome!😀
❤❤❤❤❤❤
She was incapable of hitting a sour note !
Eydie was amazing! ❤
❤ Memories ❤
Ahhh, yes. 💗
They doing make them like this anymore…..
No, they sure don't! These are treasures from a bygone era. ❤
Beautiful. ❤
Thank you. 😊
❤❤❤❤❤❤❤
😀
Thanks for posting this, it's such a nice arrangement.
You're welcome! 😀
❤❤❤
Thanks. 😊
I LOVE THIS.😊
Thank you.
This is wonderful.❤
Thank you. I appreciate it. 😊
The thing I noticed about this is no Eydie, Sondheim wrote this specifically as a duet Anyone Can whistle, the show that this was written for had this as the finale! Listen to it from the 64' cast recording.
I'm not aware of any recordings of Steve and Eydie singing this particular song together but I agree that it would have been lovely as a duet.
Wow. Just beautiful. Beautiful song.
Thank you. Nobody expresses a song like Eydie! 😀
@@kip3198 So true! No one like her.
Very pretty.
Thank you.
Very pretty.
Thank you.
❤
😊
I love you...music ❤
Thank you. I'm glad you enjoy it. 😊
I agree with the other poster. I think this was on Steve's last album which Eydie heard before she died. Both are gone but never ever forgotten.
Thank you. You are correct and Steve commented that this was one of her favorite songs from that album. 💗
Another beautiful video! Love it!
Thank you.😀
❤what a beautiful song❤
Yes, it is.
I love all 3- the highlights of Mid-century Modern T.V. Lounge Act. Steve- Edie- Andy. ✨️🇺🇲🇺🇲🇺🇲✨️
Steve only died just this past March. I always enjoyed his appearances on Carol Burnett show too.
Yes, Steve and Eydie were absolutely great.
Boy! Edie's hair! Could it get any stiffer!
Now THAT is a flip!
❤❤❤❤❤
❤❤❤❤❤❤❤
I love this song. Have heard it by Melissa Manchester and Toni Tenille who are both wonderful. Add Edyie to the mix and she put her own beautiful spin to the song. It's tailor made for her. I adored Edyie. She was fantastic.
Eydie was the best of the best!
Love this! Eydie was so great! Thank you for posting this.
You are welcome. Eydie left us with a lot of beautiful music and wonderful memories..
Just beauiful!!! You never disappoint.
Thank you. This is such a beautiful arrangement (Don Costa) and combined with Steve’s exquisite vocals it just touches your soul.😊
Thank you for downloading a treasure!!!!!
You're welcome! Glad you enjoyed it.
This must be one of the only singles from Sondheim's masterpiece ANYONE CAN WHISTLE. This is beautiful and One of My favorite FINALES of any show!
Thanks for the Kingston Trio songs, in color.
You are welcome!
What a beautiful voice she had! Thank you so much for posting this!
You are welcome. Happy to share.
