      It has worn off in the high traffic areas but surprisingly is still intact in other areas of the house. I have reapplied some areas over time, but have more to do. Thanks for commenting.

    I think it was the batting. The glue that makes it stick is flammable.

      I bought the batting that was microwaveable, so I was surprised, but I haven't had any problems since then. I now only microwave them with a dish of food inside. Thanks for commenting.

    Mine too and it only took 3 minutes! I am glad I tried it before I used one! I used 100% cotton in everything! The batting by itself caught fire and it was Wrap and Zap!

      You're only supposed to microwave at 2 minute intervals. I never go over 2 minutes. Stir, then 2 minutes more.

    Thank you, thank you, THANK YOU! I’ve been singing this song at Accuquilt and Beyond for years, but didn’t want to guinea pig my house to prove it in a video. I hope this video saved thousands from going stupid stuff. Place the hot bowl of food in the cozy to keep it warm, but never cook your cozy in the MW 🥰

    I put cardboard and leaves to kill the grass for an in ground bed. Can I use this mix on top of whatever is left of the leaves in spring?

    I had a potato bag “with a potato “ catch fire. Was only in for a minute said it was all 100% cotton. All my cozy’s I never recommend microwaving. Just using after you have taken food out.

    THEY USE CHEMICALS TO MAKE MERCERISED COTTON. PROBABLY THE CAUSE.

    Hhmmm 🤔 My thoughts: the cozy is supposed to protect one's hands from the heat of the bowl. I microwave the food in the bowl, but NOT the cozy itself <--- fire hazard eliminated.

    I put a note with it saying Not to microwave. To make it safe. Oils, and sugar etc product will burn if cozy is spoiled too. I say pull bowl out a lil then grab it with the cozy. Xo

    Allo, Si vous avez placé le bol en tissus seulement dans le micro onde pour le tester il se peut cela arrive car il n’y a aucun liquide. Il faut y ajouter aussi un aliment à réchauffer.

    Loved your video, quick question. What did you use as the liner or first layer? A gardening fabric? I was going to do cardboard should I not that ?

      When we have used liners it has been the black landscape fabric from either Home Depot or Lowe's. We have built and used some without liners, also. Thanks for commenting and sorry for the late reply!

    For the Phosphorous test , you are supposed to put the blue sediments back into the solution (shake it). (The blue one) For the Potassium, you don't want to shake them tho. My Nitrogen test came out really weird... it's like green/yellow and coagulated. Not sure what's going on there....

    Have a question. Can metal watering trofs be used as a raised bed.i had raised beds in Illinos that were made of wood ,4×8 beds I used mels mix. I'm now living in Texas and notice people are using these medal tanks for their gardens. Any advise. Thanks, Charlotte

      Hello and yes, I've seen quite a few people use metal beds successfully, and I think they're the same ones that you're wondering about. I have a video about different garden beds available at Home Depot that showcases the metal beds as well as some other pre-made beds if you want to take a look at the options.     Sounds about right. My beds were gonna need a total of 48 cubic feet and even my most conservative estimate was nearly $400. Not gonna do that. Thank you for sharing this alternative!

      Just use 100% EVERYTHING! I also suggest getting a well known 100% cotton thread. Not from dollar tree

    I've been collecting soil from the woods around the land, hopefully I can jusg use that. However I do want to try mel's mix, square foot is my favorite gardening book

      You're fortunate to have woods near you! I'm sure that soil is so full of nutrients. Mel's mix has worked well for me, and I refer to his book often for the planting calendar as well as other tips. Thanks for commenting!

      @@HomeCentsWithNell Everyone on reddit and youtube seems to be divided and I'm wondering your opinion to a first time gardener. The dirt in these woods is probably mostly wood and leaves that have been composting for many years. Can't I just fill my grow bags with that? It looks like potting mix you would buy in stores, nice blackish-dark color, although I do try to sift out the rocks and big clay chunks.

    I appreciate your video. I would suggest, regarding acidifying your soil, that you use Sulphur (dust or chips) rather than peat moss, primarily because peatlands are a large storer of carbon, but also provide a rare habitat for wildlife, and its usefulness in preventing flooding and filtering water. The RHS website has a good article on 'Acidifying soil'.

    Did it have a "glitter" or "silvery" as part of the fabric pattern? If so, it's like putting metal in the microwave.

      No, and it was labeled as 100% cotton. Now, I always place a dish of food in the cozy while heating and I haven't had any problems. Sorry for the late reply.
