Great stuff! Learning this at the moment, there's some tricky parts
I have an RT 707 too but do not have your skills, but at least when I take the deck to be serviced soon at least I have an idea what my tech guy is liable to find. Much appreciated 👍👍
I just picked one up from Goodwill and it works, so Im doing a complete restoration. Should take me a few days after parts arrive. I will send off the rollers to Terry for a rebuild.
3 motors is a good deal. Otherwise lots more pulleys belts an solenoids, probably 3 heads too. Hvg 4of the Pioneer 50 series rcvrs 650, 750, 850 and 950 and an SG 9500 Eq. Yup 2 thumbs up for Pioneer. Just got a,TeacX-3 ...very glad.

I think I'm done restoring reel to reel recorders. After buying several machines where the seller guarantees it has recently been checked over by a "qualified technician". Each time I've ended up finding out that there are worn down heads, bad belts, bad pinch roller. In addition, all the trimmers for bias, rec level, playback level, and equalization has been messed with. Then the search for spare parts, ending up paying a lot more than the cost of the recorder. I just restored an AKAI machine, which I payed $250 for, then spent $320 on parts!
One of the most painful videos i try to watch
👍👍👍
I fitted one in my house but draw cold air from outside and pump warm air in. Does away with draughts and provides improved air exchange in the house.
Well my thought was that i didnt want to be pumping in the air from outside as we are being sprayed most days - Last week Tennessee in the US passed a law to ban chemtrailing - dont know where you are but here in ireland our skys are being sprayed every day
I miss your music channel
how ya Steven - jasus , long time - I deleted a few , heres 2 - ua-cam.com/video/simXex8KhG0/v-deo.html and another www.youtube.com/@theplanxtys3200/videos - hows she cutten !!!
Clean your shop bro how do you work in there love your idea
its not a workshop - its a tiny garden shed , for lawnmoers and shite !!!! - its so small i evict the massive spiders every time i go in there , just for the space !!!!.......... big dam spiders !! hahha
You may have too many square corners in your design which causes back pressure. A separate fan would probably work better for increased air movement. I may try to take the heat off of the exhaust by getting a longer exhaust tube and making it into a coil inside a section of 6" stove pipe and use a small fan on the end to blow the heat thru it. That would not only get me more heat, but cool the exhaust down before going thru the wall to the outside.
ah sure it occured to me that night - made this the next day or day after - ua-cam.com/video/0L8zc5Na8nY/v-deo.html
Very nice, why Not Standing Up your Pipe , then Heater direct in, the exhaust Pipe Points already downwards, 2x 90 degree elbows ( U shape) about 5 cm ...that seems the shortest distance for me ! Cheers from another Dieselheater Fan 🙋
jasus i was thinking all the same stuff ............ then i went to make something in a shed the size of a shower !!!!
what are character lol Happy new year 👍
great info, easy to understand, thanks for the video
good video..I have 3 of these 707's..You really need to buy a heat gun..very helpful to expand frozen parts..
This is absolutely brilliant ,
I've always felt that this machine is very attractive, compact and of high quality. The problem is the inability to use 10 inch reels, 15ips two track. I believe that in certain segments of the audiophile community, that R2R is making quite a comeback.
...love this video...have the same model.😃

41:49 two track recording
0:05 you’re not the first 😂
Stick up a link to the German website you ordered it from.
it was from a german seller on ebay
the tape is mono and when it's played on on a stereo deck it has one track backwards one track forwards
This looks like an Iskra Delta case. It has a high sentimental value in Slovenia. Would you consider selling the thing now that you've reviewed it? ☕
Вот подробный ремонт: ua-cam.com/video/Xx9ntwRv3eY/v-deo.html&t
The play Back heads are out of lineament there is a forward and reverse play back heads. That’s why your hearing the both tracks it also could be the could be the machine it was recorded on had the heads miss line. Record something in both directions to see if this keeps playing both forward and reverse track at the same time. You can find alinement instructions on the Internet.
machines in Ireland 40- 50 years ago were very simple -no stereo - head allignment is something i endured from the 80's , trying to load games from cassette to 8 bit computers - i had an oric atmos , age 13 - today , as of now - waiting for replacement component shipment - left today , aparently - 131 capacitiors ! - will be starting with the psu board soon hopefully
hi best way to get alot of gear is to have a channel on here on my old channel i was getting fee gear all the time it was put out because of all the work need on it you can bet
hi i have a 701 was used in place were they cut open the bodies you know the place the audio line inputs were a right mess i could not get the right parts for the mic line amp so i pulled the line amp pcb made a new one using ic's op amps sounds alot better this way sometime i get decks and they just can't go back to whay they were in the past
"cut open the bodies " - lost there me
It turned a samisimac
Do NOT turn on closed captions for this video, lol
That’s a great job! 👍🏻
Hello. Just to explain what you've got there. This is not an Iskra Delta Partner, but the case is an Iskra Delta Partner mod (with front switches added), and the disks are also Iskra Delta Partner. If the monitor is Matsushita then it is also from original Iskra Delta Parner. This looks like a self built from an Apple board and a Partner everything else. Iskra Delta Partner is your typical Z80 CP/M machine with SIO, PIO, CTC, and using SCN2674 for text graphics. I learned to program on Iskra Delta Partner back in the 80ties. It was produced in Slovenia. We have a vivid community of retro enthusiasts inside the country but I have no clue how on earth this heavy machine found its way to Ireland. I often wanted to ship me one from Slovenia to London but it's a looong way.
hi tomaz,,,,,,,,,,, ireland has tens of thousands of eastern europeans coming to live here for the last 10- 15 years - thats proaably how it got here - and fair play to the

This is a very elderly AS/400, probably a model B10 or a B20. These, the first AS/400 models, and a somewhat larger model B35, were introduced by IBM in 1988. They used 48 bit addressing and were intended to replace the IBM System /38 and perhaps the System /36. The diskette drive was for 8" diskettes. It was intended as a multi -user system, accessed by IBM 5250 terminals. The B20 had a faster processor but both had disk capacity of 1GB. This was a lot at that time. They could not be used over the internet. (it was 1988!!). They were intended for small businesses for accounting, product control, etc. They were not intended for word processing and there were no digital images at that time They were absolutely stunning machines when new. They did not require air conditioning and, were small and light(!) compared with their predecessors! I purchased a B10 and B20 in 1988 or 1989 for my company. They used their own, superb, operating system - OS/400 - no Windows! They were very robust. If you put it back together and powered it up, it almost certainly would still start, even 30 years later. However, without a 5250 terminal you couldn't do anything useful with it. It is a museum piece - put it away for your grandchildren and maybe in 50 years time it will be worth serious money as I imagine that very few have survived. The AS/400 has changed beyond recognition since 1988 and its name has changed several times. The modern AS/400 will support thousands of concurrent users, with many terrabytes of disk etc. It will host massive websites. It is probably the most secure server in the world and you don't need windows.
One of these (also not working) for sale on eBay, ending 9/9/18: www.ebay.co.uk/itm/113230491248

Great video series keep it going. That sound is the Bose bug, but there is a fix for this this might help you ua-cam.com/video/mW-2IOnb9A0/v-deo.html.
I got one of these, this exact model, the MZ-721, for christmas in 1984. Like all other kids, I wanted a C-64, but Sharp had their main warehouse in the town I lived, so when the home computer scramble of the time hit, they offered them at a discount. I learned to program on it, since there was not much in the way of games. Very happy memories and at the mere sight of it, I get a bit of a lump in my throat. Thank you kindly for giving this the pride of my early teens some attention on youtube.
There were 3 models. The 711 had nu built-in periferals, the 721 had an integrated tape drive, and the 731 had tape driv plus plotter printer.
Frame collapse?
Did you get it working?
What ever happened to this "fekkin" Apple? Inquirin' minds want ta know!
up in the attic .. all together i hope
What a beautiful thing. First time I heard the word "Motherboard" was at Computer Land of Los Altos. Too bad those guys weren't running the schools. Where the Compucolor used to sit they replaced it with an Apple II. It should of had some kind of programmable interrupt off the video counter and how about 4 or 8 bit audio... But nobody knew what they were doing back then.. Main thing was you were supposed to believe how complicated everything was from people who didn't know what they were talking about. If you love an old computer... Implement it in an FPGA... Ya I did the functional Apple II so need to do the gate level and correct my interpretation of some shortcomings. Those were the Golden days.
i read it all ,,,, didnt get much of it........ felt the love for the time........... rock on!!
