This is the 12/28/1984 Notre Dame vs SMU game. The Aloha Bowl. The Mustangs were cp champs of the Southwest Confernce with Houston but Houston got The Cotton Bowl bid because of a win against SMU. It marked SMU's 4'th consecutive 10 win season. Because of NCAA Probation and The NCAA imposed Death Penalty The Ponies would not make another Bowl until 2009. Notre Dame was in its fourth season under Gerry Faust and had some talented players but still weren't making the progress under Faust that they had hoped. I claim no rights.
