Sadly, I wish there were books specific about their V12's, but at least I never found any. 😓 BTW, worth building a de-stroked M120 revving to the moon...I wonder if it could tackle 1,000 hp without turbos, solely with revs...kinda like the Aston Martin Valkyrie, but with lower displacement and even higher revs.

Well if there aren't any books on these engines there is a lot of source's online and sometimes I use it but that engine build idea sounds awesome

@@Curiousgamer20 Yeah, at least there's that! 😅 And we can actually have a blast with the bits and pieces scattered all over the web, kinda like a Lego with words, haha! Jokes aside, most people increase the engine displacement, but very few go for smaller builds. 4N Motorsport built a de-stroked BMW N55 engine, from 3.0L to 2.6L, revving to 9000 rpm. Worth checking that out. The thing sounds almost like a Nissan RB26, beautiful. 👌🏻 Another one worth doing similar recipe (de-stroked) is BMW's S85, the V10 from the M5 E60. It's the closest thing to a proper street-legal Formula 1 V10 you can get, specially if tuned and modified to rev high (past 10,000 rpm) and kept naturally aspirated as well, although a twin turbocharged setup would be wicked too.

Unfortunately this is only a game it's can't tune real engines but you can somewhat simulator what would happen if you run an engine your way (it can knock,break or lean pop ect.) it's a pretty fun game

It's not particularly accurate to real life, i recreated my own engine (1.6 ecoboost) with my turbo (s280) and it says it instantly fails when going above about 1 bar of boost. Meanwhile irl i'm running about 400bhp at 2 bar of boost and it's fine. Even just trying to get the same power on my engine in this game results in a engine with way more turbo lag than i am getting irl. So if you wanna recreate your own engine in this game to see what sort of power you could reach, it's going to be a disappointment

Yeah so one thing to keep in mind is how high the quality slider is because it can make a huge difference in power and torque

@@Curiousgamer20 Yeah, but even with everything on max quality it doesn't match what i can get from a stock engine and a hybrid turbo lol, this game is just not very accurate to real life. Regardless there is still some stuff to learn from it, but you shouldn't kid your self in to thinking that if you can build and engine in this game you could build one irl

Hey so i have been trying to do your challenge and unfortunately that is theoretically impossible with the game's coding logic but it works wonders at lower RPM (like the diesel style engines i have built in the past ) so what I'll do is make an engine that makes power and torque at 10,000RPM hope you enjoy

@@Curiousgamer20 That would be great. I was always wondering what the limiting factor was with these engines. If you compare the Merlin HP/liter its tiny, even less than the hated Ford ecoboost auto motor.

That is true but does engines needed to be over built in order to be reliable but in Automation that isn't a problem so yeah Monday we will be messing with a similar engine

Hp is a product of torque and rpm At 2k rpm the torque would be 131ft lb At 5k it would be 52 ft lb At 1 rpm the torque 262600 ft lb So higher rpm requires less torque to produce 50 hp.

Not needed with nitromethane or methanol as the sheer amount of fuel is cooling the combustion chamber enough to avoid issues. All cars running methanol at the drag strip do not run an intercooler as it just adds weight and complexity, and is really not needed with that type of fuel
