They are so pretty Karen xx
Thank you for sharing!
pleasure!
Thank you for the reminder to use a hoop!! I’ve made some pretty gunked up pieces without it!😉
You're welcome!
Я не поняла,что это?
it's a book of embroidery samples
What is your white background fabric? I like the look of its texture
Hi. it's a cotton seersucker.
What kind of paper are you using?
Hi, this is the exact paper I am using in the video store.bookbinding.co.uk/7046/Waterproof-Hemp-Flower-White/
Happy New Year Karen, your paper lace is gorgeous. My sewing machine days are over unfortunately so I live vicaariously through your machine stitching. I tried hand stitching paper lace and it definitely did not work. Well done! Kathleen 4theloveofstitch
Happy new year Kathleen x
Happy New year Karen 🎉🎉🙏🙏🎆🎆

Two minutes isn’t long enough! A full tutorial would be nice.
sorry!! I teach this in my classes so try not to give too much away in short videos....hope you understand? Thnaks so much the comment though, I really appreciate that you watched it xx
Please Karen don’t stop I love your work I have chronic asthma can’t do much and so ihave started a piece like what you are doing and I love it I don’t have paper you have but I just do stitching thank you
Thank you for this wonderful comment. I'm so happy I help you to create even if only in a small way. I'm sorry to hear about your health issues. Take good care x
Love your pieces!
Thank you! x
Where ever do you acquire your beautiful textiles? I absolutely love your work.
Hi, do you mean my vintage pieces or my patterned cloth? I source vintage pieces online mostly and my patterned fabrics I mostly buy from Liberty in London and I occasionally buy other patterned fabrics online. Thank you for your lovely words about my work too x
I am an admirer of your work, but I'm not sure what is a wrapping cloth? I've seen you working on yours, will it be wrapped around a spool? Pardon my ignorance, I mainly make little fabric books 😊
not ignorance at all! and thank you .... I started to create 'wrapping cloths' when my children left home. They were a demonstration of my desire to wrap and protect them. They are generally quite big, think half blanket size. I hope that makes sense?
Yes perfectly thankyou x
I love the way you put your pretties together 😊❤
Thank you! x
@@karenruane1 you are welcome ☺️
Good morning Karen, thank you for the video on wrapping cloths. To me they resemble collage samplers and that is exactly what I am going to create from your Ko-Fi videos.💕🪡🧵🎉🇨🇦
Do you have a link for the paper you stitch on (Japanese)? I tried to find it and have not been able to find them. Thank you so much. I just found you, I am enjoying your work very much. Thank you for sharing your knowledge.
Hi Michelle, so pleased you enjoy the videos x The link to the Japanese papers is here store.bookbinding.co.uk/94/588/Tissues-%26-Fine-Lightweights/
I used to use another paper a lot, it was slightly thicker but sadly it is now discontinued x
@@karenruane1 thank you so much. this looks lovely under the stitching.
This is a fabulous journal! Thank you for the inspiration!
Thank you x
❤❤👍👍
Good morning Karen, I’m always so happy to see a video from you. This piece is looking good and the hexie flower garden beautifully edge stitched is a wonderful focal point. The one important thing I have appreciated learning from you is how you draw lazy daisy flowers on fabric to create a vintage feel to the piece. It brings back memories of the first dresser scarves I embroidered as a little girl💕🪡🧵🎉🇨🇦
Good morning Kathleen xxx
Good morning Karen, I absolutely love watching you stitch and get such joy from it. That’s why I play your classes while I stitch. 💕🪡🧵🎉🇨🇦
Good day Kathleen! Thank you so much. I love getting your always amazing comments. I hope you're feeling better xx
Good morning Karen, these artist books are my absolute favorite. I’m very sorry you couldn’t continue with your new course so I will rewatch the old courses I purchased from you. Your stitching is awesome and that is the type of stitching I love to do. I’m going to try to create everything that you have created in classes that I have purchased. I love the stitching on fabric. I won’t be using too much paper and I have to do everything by hand. I can’t tell you how much I love your work and look forward to any classes you offer. Thank you for this video, Kathleen.
Hi Kathleen, I'm sorry about class. If you need anything with regard to your classes don't hesitate to mail me xxx
Such pretty pieces 🌸💕
What size hexagon and petal papers do you use!!
hi, I use one inch hexagons but I'm sorry, I don't have a clue what size the petal papers are, they were a free sample.
I so love all your pretties, beautiful, thank you for sharing 💕💕
no, thank you for your lovely comments xx
This is so cute, pretty, lovely, gorgeous 💕💕💕
thank you so much x
@@karenruane1 you are welcome ☺️ ❤️

@karenruane1 fantastic and great
I'm watching from down under Australia and I just found your channel and I loved it. Your stlyle is exactly what I'm looking for. I'm going to watch sum more of your videos. You have given me so many ideas. Love your work!!!!
Thank you ! If you have any questions please don't hesitate to get in touch. x
Oh my… those pieces are lovely 💕🪡🧵🎉🇨🇦
Thank you Kathleen x
Do you have a video showing the actual joining technique you use. You are amazing!! Thank you
Thank you! The joining of the sections is really quite simple. I just sew them together using hand stitch. You can use running stitch, French knots, anything really.
Lovely to see the sample book again ❤❤
Thank you x
Hi karen, just wanted to say, your embroidery is lovely, it must take quite a bit time and patience, planning and working out how you are going to do your project/book. 😊
Thank you Jennifer. Yes, time and patience but it's never a chore x
Yes, you enjoy doing your embroidery. 😊
Wow! Beautiful! What is the base paper!
Thank you! The base is a collage of Japanese tissue papers. x
@@karenruane1 Thank You!
Oh my… how lovely! The way you decorate the paper is absolutely mind blowing. Stitching on paper is way too hard on my fingers so I stitch on vintage doily pieces. My favourite thing to stitch on is pre-printed embroidery linens from days gone by. Your style of stitching is so masterful and inspiring. I love seeing your beautiful artistic creations.💕🪡🧵🎉🇨🇦
thank you Kathleen x
Beautiful- I used to buy similar sequins from a co whose name began with R and now cannot recall 😢
I love what you do. So inspiring. Do you have a tutorial for making the buttons? Thanks - Marie
Hi Marie, thank you! I teach the button making in my online classes so don't have a public tutorial. x
Ok thanks. May consider joining a class in the future
Oh my gosh! This artist book is something that I absolutely NEED to create… every… single… page. When I purchased all of your classes this is what I envisioned myself making. This is the most beautiful piece I’ve ever seen and ever needed to create. I will stumble along in the dark trying to stitch one like this… and pray that you will consider creating a class replicating this masterpiece 💕🪡🧵🎉🇨🇦
Thank you so much Kathleen....you are always so positive about my work. I appreciate it more than you know. x
well Done Hun i do like that a lot keep up the good work 👍👍
thanks! x
This is so enchanting I adore it. How clever you are xx
Thank you!! xx
I love the idea of using a tab of hexies to wrap your booklet. Thanks for sharing
I am excited as I sit here on a cold cold morning in Australia watching your show and tell of your cloth books. I am not new to "Slow Stitching" - to quote the new name for anything hand stitched in my humble opinion, lol - but I am new to making cloth journals etc. I have so many vintage pieces of crochet, hankies, laces, the list goes on. I like the floppyness (for want of a better word) of your gorgeous cloth books. Thank you for sparking my imagination within the world of embroidery and embellishment. I will be visiting you as often as I can. Thank you again for sharing. Love your big fluffy pom pom.
Thank you! I agree about the 'handle' of a cloth book, there's nothing quite like it. Happy stitching...... and lovely to 'meet' you. x
