short yet conveys a strong message. Our ego will always do everything (unconsciously) to defend and keep our existence safe. It creates a distance between our conscious mind and our insecurities. Those are linked to oppressed memories, negative emotions and bad behaviors. Our self-image is so precious and even fragile to our own brain, hence the tendency to act on the surface level as a survival mechanism.

Well, I truly understand as that if you are authentic and real to yourself, confidence just is an inherit consequence of yourself. Body language really just follows what you observe of yourself, as a way that it solidates what is acknowledged of yourself, by the way that you are living.

Understood, you have a point. But ALSO consider the antithesis of what you're saying. Why should we comply with authentic body-language of someone who is... gaslighted, or unduly persecuted, (thereby participating in that abuse) or unappreciated despite the good we are? Why not let yourself present yourself for the good you really are. Why comply with letting society/other people convince you that you're something you're not. ...and what if you genuinely honestly love someone, but are shy or culturally reserved about letting it show -- one's body language betrays one's true emotions and prevents a potential relationship, so you're scamming yourself...and her too. Realizing and fixing errors in what your body language seems to project makes it worth paying SOME attention. My biggest beef is when people try to rely on interpreting body language and get it wrong anyways. Way too many factors involved...other issues, pressing urgent issues not related to the present moment, busy-ness, work-load, time pressures, discouraging words from enemies or from jealous observers, tiredness levels for any reason -- not enough sleep, vitamin deficiencies, and the dynamics of interpreting (or being ignorant of) each other's body language. The study of body language really does need to be taken with a big grain of salt. Like you said, being the best you are and authentically letting it show.

@@mtlicq I don’t think this is an antithesis to my point. I think it’s an addition. Because the authentic version of you automatically shows a confident body language, despite rejection. All of us have that at a core. It’s just covered by layers and layers of conditioning. Great comment, btw! 🙌🏼

Giving a tempered reaction is almost as bad as giving a negative reaction, because it is a signal to the other person that you do not want to give a lot of energy. In some situations, it's going to make people wary of your purpose being there. You're going to come across as if you're there looking for something that the other person won't be able to provide. Engaging in the energy of others is the strongest way to show them that you're in the room / environment with them, not observing them like an alien thing.

I wholeheartedly support this video, as people put on masks just because they think they are weirdos when in reality they are a lot more normal and loveable. As a result, they kill their own personalities, and socializing only makes them more tired and lonely. In life, most of the time you will be in the presence of someone else, and if you constantly mask your personality, that would eventually lead to burnout. Just be yourself and don't overdo anything; you got one life; you should enjoy it.
