Animal Kingdom Entrance Ambience
Animal Kingdom is a combination of a Disney-style zoo and a theme park, with spectacular attractions such as Expedition Everest and Avatar Flight of Passage. In theme areas such as Africa and Pandora, you will feel like you are in another world.
Animal Kingdom is quickly gaining popularity and is becoming one of Walt Disney World's favorite theme parks. The combination of a Disney-style zoo and a theme park seems to be catching on more and more after a hesitant start in 1998. This is not only due to the addition of several spectacular experiences such as Expedition Everest and Kali River Rapids, but also to the spectacular theme land Pandora, The World of Avatar.
But even more than the attractions, this park has to rely on the spectacular African and Asian landscapes, the detailed architecture and the lifelike habitats of the wild animals.
Animal Kingdom is divided into six theme areas. Visitors enter the park through the Oasis. In this densely wooded area, which often opens an hour earlier than the rest of the park, there are a few shops, a restaurant (Rainforest Café) and you can see small animals such as kangaroos, anteaters, deer and otters in their enclosures.
All guests then cross a large bridge to Discovery Island, the heart of the park, easily recognizable by the Tree of Life. This giant tree is fourteen stories high and has three hundred animal faces in the fake bark. A theater is located between the roots of this fake tree where the 3D film It’s tough to be a bug is shown, with characters from the animated film A bug’s life.
