@@Jodyrides I've been hard on this transmission for 2 rolla's now it's a jdm c56 5spd lsd unit, the Fidanza flywheel is so light and the transmission is old tech and I obviously have no mechanical sympathy, probably needs some fresh redline gear oil 🤪🫡 the short shifter I made fit probably doesn't help either 🫠

@@toyotaricer I think I would be double clutching and short shifting from 1st to 2nd. I’ve had to do that on my 1958 mga transmission since 1968.

Video does it no justice unfortunately, but in reality it's spicy for a 1.6l 4cyl, 🫡👌🏁😎 itb's, dohc, fuel injection....it only weighs about 1800lbs

​@@toyotaricer Cool, that's a good weight if its accurate. That would make it a bit lighter than a Lotus Elise which is definitely impressive. But assuming you are making a respectable 170-210 HP N/A @ about 8K RPM its still not quite enough to beat my daily beaters power to weight ratio. I also don't really feel that the idle sound qualifies as a "rumble" either. Maybe it's because I daily drive a 400 HP 3400 pound 68 Satellite with a .500 lift cam, solid engine mounts, and hooker headers with two feet of three inch open pipes.

@@Isugeye That doesn't change the fact that the car doesn't "rumble". Also "to be fair", I'm getting so sick of car noobs trying to cope with my old car being fast by telling me it can't take a turn when they've never driven one like it before and know absolutely nothing about the kind of suspension it came with. It weighs less and fits more rubber than most modern performance cars and came from the factory with stiff fully adjustable suspension and drives WAY better than all these heavy modern AWD cars that can't throttle up in a turn without pushing like a garbage truck. It also gets better traction from a dead stand still than any street driven FWD car. In fact my 1.8 second 60 foot time is the same as a Tesla Model S and is better than most hot AWD cars.

And how am I a car noob because I said that this car can handle better? I'm just saying strengths and again obviously a 1.6 4cyl isn't gonna be faster than a big ol v8 in the straights

@@toyotaricer no doubt, I have a 97 Camry with a muffler delete it’s not that loud but I still love it bought that car when I turned 17 have had it ever since won’t ever get rid of it if it blows a motor I’ll put a new one in lol

@bronzepkmn no sir, just fwd and awd in the all trac models but thoes are wagons, I have a lsd transmission that makes it hook up and Corner like nothing else on the road with the weight to horsepower ratio 😉 , Remember Toyota spent millions developing these cars to beat the model before it and race 🏁 against honda in the morning 🌄
