Dude I have a 2000 tan platinum es and I’m not sure if I’ve ever seen a black one…might be my favorite color scheme of that car now. Looks really good man
The sunroof drain hose shrinks and pulls loose. Then when it rains, water runs down the A pillar inside, and drips on the floor. Also the transmission is weak. If you run it hard, it will fail.
You can't find replacement parts for this car anywhere anymore, except junkyards which isn't helpful. Finally going to have to throw in the towel on my '06 next year. And it's just hopeless to get the cooling system ironed out on these. It's a shame because they're great cars.
There are groups on Fb who has many people willing to help you and they either have know where to get parts at reasonable prices. I am actually in the market for one now
I have the 99 Lexus ES 300 and I love it with some of the features you mentioned on your 2000. Love your color combo and wheels. Nice presentation by the way. enjoy!
I just bought a 2000 ls v8 cost me 9000 ( 3500 for the car the rest is new coils , sparkplugs, rear brakes , drums and calipers, tinted windows, new windshield, two airbags ( to shut off codes for mechanical ) new fuel filter, two air filters ( engine and cabin ) . Still need to figure out the fog lamps. Oh yeah 4 new tires, new battery , the end product looks great and runs great and fast as fuck lol.
Beautiful car man , I have a late August 1999 model es300 in Australia and I have the clear taillights (yes they are original) and I also have the same key with integrated remote , mine also has the same clear fog lights and same front bumper , I have the same wood around my cd player , my interior is EXACT SAME as yours and is in pristine condition , another fun fact is my 99 es300 has the engine with no VVT-I which has the more reliable A541E transmission which you guys in America only had up to the 1998 model year , there has been many issues with the transmission that is in your model es300 with vvt-i , i know these cars well and I have also had a 2004 model es300 which was one of the best cars i have ever had (drove better than this model) however its gearbox isn't as good as my current 1999 model es300 , in my opinion these 97-2001 models are faster and feel better to drive (less electronic compared to newer models after 2002)
do anyone know how to fix the door lock system? stop it from setting off the alarm when ever the car is locked. I have a beautiful dark cherry/ saddle interior,,v8..98000 miles.......I dont drive anymore because it is embarrassing with alarm going off all the time,, so it sits in the driveway with battery disconnected. It also drains the battery if I leave it connected
Yeah I pulled the horn relay. I just don't arm the car alarm any more. One (or more) of the lock actuators is going bad and you can't find replacements anywhere.
@@quinnsilence yah fronts and rears there’s utube videos on replacement install it’s easy did in buddy’s garage. Yes when I bought the car I knew I needed to replace both bank 1,2 cats. Got off eBay was easy also. Buy BOSAL if replacing exhaust I lost $750 buying from a Canadian seller didn’t fit I did valve covers, all ignition coils spark plugs and injectors. And a mass air flow sensor. All that didn’t need replacement but I did it anyways. Brakes were already changed out per prior owner. I love the car. Oh did a drain and refill on atf. And have changed oil 3 times now owned since Jan 20’

They used the same ignition coils on the 96-99 ford SHO. Same coils. Who the fuck cares. I just got one 79k miles v6 for $1800. And the headlights are clear. The coils are not shit to replace. Car has a low resale value cause of the fucking sealed transmission.
It's funny how there's so many variations on these cars. I have a 2006 LS V8 (same color) but the interior isn't as nice as yours. Instead of wood (simulated wood) inserts, mine has mesh steel and the shift is leather and the steering wheel is just a normal steering wheel. Mine also has a CD and cassette player. A few things i like are the double sun visors on both the driver and passenger sides. I like that the car battery is in the trunk too. Makes it easier to jump start others without having to turn the car around to face each other. A few things consistently problematic with this year are front bumper paint chipping, radio reception, and right rear quarter rusting directly above the tire. I've had my bumper repainted twice in 9 years but it just doesn't want to stay put. Most Lincoln/Ford dealers will agree that the radios in these things really suck due to the antenna being embedded into the rear window. I struggle to get basic AM sports radio in the same town as the station. Tires for this car seem to be difficult to find also. $1200 a pop is very pricey to me but luckily I'm only on my second set. If you need to ever change yours, keep one or two of the better ones in your garage just in case. If your seat cooler and heater works, feel fortunate because mine don't. When asked about how much to fix, Lincoln dealership quoted nearly $1800 due to having to rip so much out of the car to get at them. You got a great car at a fantastic price.
Do you use winter tires when driving it in the winter?

There was a windshield wiper seal that leaked, and water dripped on the ignition coil under it. You need to fix that!
