I just bought a house with lots of bluestone flooring that looks like slate. The grout lines are so thick and stained and the tile is cloudy in places. Watching this gave me the idea to use grout refresh to change the white grout to black and reseal the tiles to look like yours. I can't wait to finish the project.
Cool. Thanks for the review, man.
@@Sofu1970 my absolute pleasure 🤙
It looks awesome. Can the same be done on black marble? Our bathroom floor in our new home is suffering 😔
I wish I could tell you. I haven’t worked with marble floors so I can’t say.
Awesome process. Trying out this method right now but with "Aqua Mix Enrich and Enhance sealer." Thanks bro. I bought a multitool and will saw out the grout and put new grout in.
Can u paint Slate
Thanks for sharing your process - I found it super helpful!
I wish my slate looked like your ‘before’ pics. Haha
Thank you for making this video. 😊😊 After remolding of my bathroom and changing out all the doors in my codon, I vacuumed and cleaned the slate tiles of the hallway and kitchen. I found out they have white paint on them. I am so glad I can use paint thinner to get the paint out. The instruction of the sealer says, don't use sponge to apply the sealer. I guess one reason is sometime, they have some detergent on them already. I guess detergent and sealer doesn't adhere the sealer as good.
I did not hear thename of siller
Hi Flipping Dust, After a year, what's your feed back on the boost fin, any issues?
Finally getting to the comments again on this video. Still loving the fun and having a blast. Trying not to use it so much as my goal is continuing to strengthen my body post surgery. But to be honest, the fin does help and it gets me into waves I would probably have missed.
Wow, great Job! Im gonna try This in my Bathroom floor. Does it work for any kind of Tiles? Mine are white & gray & the Thinset is everywhere. Can you give minor instructions? Im guessing I have to sand it down, vacuum it up, clean it, then paint it, then add gloss or, Shine or shalak!
good review, I had the same thoughts after trying it
Hi...i got mine today in Germany 🎉 how long was your session? I wonder how long you can surf with a fully charged battery!
I only use it for short bursts and with my schedule surf sessions are typically an hour. So far I haven’t run out of battery.
saltwater got in remote had to get a new remote only took a couple of weeks, make sure you check screws are tight.
I received my Boost fin and set setting at 80% continuous, with other at 100% for 10 seconds. Did a test in pool with 80% - continuous and it lasted for 30 mins. My goal was to use the Boost on my SUP out in the surf to help get out past the break and to help catch wave. I am thinking, this should be able to stay in water for about an 1hr surf session. (This includes sitting / ideal time waiting for wave) Have not tried in waves / ocean yet. Also, I was NOT able to get Boost to stop running if the remote went to far away. I was under the impression if the remote was not close enough the Boost would stop, this is NOT the case. Not sure how much drag this will cause. Hope this helps. .
I heard the motor of the fin pretty good and when You accelerate that beeping gets faster I guess that comes from the wrist thing..
The sound comes from the fin. The remote is silent. The sound in the video is coming from the fin and transmitted through the board to the GoPro camera housing. That’s why you can hear the fin but not my voice in the video. In real life the fin Sound is much less noticeable.
Can this thing float?
Noooo. It won’t float. If that’s a concern you can tether it to your board just in case.
Happy for you mate! Great to see you out there again..
Any update? I’m wanting to buy one but the price is kinda steep and I want to make sure it’s a well made product that works and not some crappy gimmick.
Still working well!
Great review, love the comments also (most of 'em anyway). It is encouraging to see how many other people have physical challenges but still want to get in the H2O. I have a shoulder issue plus general deconditioning so probably going to put my $ down today. They seem to be getting their production process & supply chain issues resolved. Still will work on improving my paddling strength
How long will the remote last before you change the battery? Thanks.
I’m not sure. I changed it before any battery degradation was noticed as I went on a trip and didn’t want the potential hassle of changing it in a remote area (pun noticed not necessarily intended 😁)
Thanks for the video. Finally mine arrived last week and im excited to try it out this summer. But I'll install it on my paddle board and my kayak to help when my arms get tired from paddling in Tennessee waters.
@flipping dust, Nice review! Thanks so much for making this video and sharing it. How do you feel about it one year later? Di you see any signs of damage over this time? Did you notice any issues? Does the battery usually last for 1-1.h sessions like described in the product page? I will try to check your other videos! Best regards and I wish you great waves! 🏄🏻♂️ ❤
great time line video! Who was your doctor? Important choice
Thank you! Dr Choll Kim in San Diego. The guy is a medical magician. Over a year later and I’m still in awe over the improvement. Being able to play with my kids, surf, scuba…(live again without pain). It’s priceless. Wishing you health and comfort. If you have further questions, please feel free to ask. I check messages here sporadically so please excuse any delays in response
hangin in there. Thanks for the review and looks promising for future sessions. As for me, I have neck and back issues so having that extra oomph with be so helpful!
Could be a game changer for the disabled surfers like myself...ie loss of arm strength due to muscle atrophy from terminal cancer like myself .
Just reviewing messages after a long break from UA-cam. So sorry you’re struggling.
Thanks for this review. I have chronic tendonitis in both arms so this seems just the thing for me. You mentioned you can't really hear the sound of the motor, but I hear a high pitched sound in your video, like a dentist drill. That would really bug me if I heard it out in the water (and I don't want to bug my fellow surfers). Thoughts?
With the waves a water movement it’s very hard to hear the fin. I think the reason it can be heard better in the video is because the GoPro is mounted right on the stringer of the board. Notice how you can’t hear my voice but you can hear the fin? I think the sound travels through the board and the microphone in the GoPro picks it up through the mount. Just like you can’t hear water slapping against the hull of a boat from the outside, but if you’re inside a boat with your ear pressed against the hull, you can hear it loudly. I hope that helps address your question.
Hi. Thank you for your video. I found it very helpful. Would you be able to advise where I could purchase the clips you were using in your video?
Most hardware stores ie Home Depot, Lowe’s, and Amazon
Nice review thanks, is it loud when in use or is that just the gopro picking up the noise? Can others nearby hear it? I've recently had them confirm my address so fingers crossed it's coming to Ireland this month
It’s just the GoPro picking it up in the housing that is mounted to the board. I just answered this question a few messages up and am now seeing your question too (I’m not on this account everyday and am reading the messages right now)
@@flippingdust9666 thanks, mines actually arrived now, I've given it a brief try and the noise doesn't seem to be a problem
OVER 2 YEARS AND STILL NO FIN THIS SUCKS...
I see on their Facebook page and another page associated with owners of the fin that quite a few more are shipped out and the company is catching up on back orders quickly. Hopefully you got yours by now!
I got mine today🎉
Once you've caught the wave does it shut off or do you turn it off or do you leave it on and ride the wave?
There are two programmed boost options (factory set but can be adjusted via the user app). One program is designed for a short boost getting into the wave. A longer program is designed to help with paddling out - a longer more sustained use of the motor. The short boost will typically time out as the rider catches the wave and stands up. If the program is set for a longer duration or the “paddle out” program is selected the boost technically can be turned off during the ride via the wrist remote, however, there is no harm in riding the wave with the motor running. On slow mushy waves I’ve purposefully used the longer program and found it to be useful - especially in getting around questionable wave sections. I hope that helps. If I missed any part of your quest, feel free to ask more.
Do not be fooled by the product that really does not exist. I have been waiting patiently for over 1 year and a half. There is always an excuse. Always few more months. I have the email to prove it. I finally asked for my money back. If no response then I will be calling my CC.
Thank you for the review. awsome cant wait to get my one as well
Nice. Get ready to have some fun!
Isn’t that parking like 20 dollars. Do you pay that every time you go? There’s always parking on the street and it not the farthest walk.
You are right. Parking in that lot isn’t the least expensive.
Did you notice any extra drag when not in use on wave?
There is a very slight noticeable drag when up and riding with the fin not boosting. The higher the performance board, the more noticeable. If you’re on a fat log, you may not notice at all. But, you can turn it on while riding a wave. I’m editing a follow up video and mention a super fun technique of boosting while riding to connect wave sections that would otherwise end the ride.
Do you think this would work on a bodyboard? Maybe an XL Bodyboard or do you think it's too heavy?
Well, the truth is I’ve been curious about the same thing, err almost the same thing. I have a kneeboard that I seldom ride but am curious how the Boost fin and that board would work together. I’m ordering an adapter since the kneeboard uses futures fin boxes. When I get the adapter I plan to give a review on that too.
@@flippingdust9666 Cool. kneeboard could be super fun with the Boost. Hopefully it works well...looking forward to seeing that video soon. Many Thanks!
@@flippingdust9666 Got my attention now as an ageing knello,i look forward to your future vid !
great review :)
Thank you!
@@flippingdust9666 Do you mind if we share your review on BoostFin social network pages?
@@zoecirta1757 of course. Please feel free. Thank you for asking.
Thanks for this video, but this Boost Fin is not available!! I ordered one and payd it one year ago, still waiting..........
The production is ramping up and the back orders are getting filled. Us early Kickstarters waiting quite a while due to pandemic impacted logistics. The founders continued to push on when many other companies folded, so major props to them. Hang in there. The fin is a blast.
I paid for mine almost 3 years ago and still waiting
I surf there as well and can't wait to get my boost. Maybe it will come before the next millennium!
Oh nice. Hope to see you out there soon.
Wow finally seeing a real person using their Boost Fin 👍🏄♂. How do you reckon it would go on a 6’10” CI MID (about 42 litres) ?
lol. I have a feeling there'll be quite a few reviews now that a fairly large number of the fins are being shipped. As long as you have plenty of buoyancy I imagine it'd work well on a that size board.
Great video! Thanks for the review
Thanks for watching!
Thanks for the review. Can't wait to get mine.. go padres!
Hope you enjoy it!
My fin is supposed to arrive shortly. And I too used to surf often at 15th street. I'm 190 lbs. riding a 10ft. single fin Swami's Express, and I've had two shoulder surgeries which have kept me pretty much out of the water. So I'm hoping to see you out there. Thanks for the review.
My pleasure. And that’d be very cool to see you out there. When I’m at 15th I frequently ride my sea foam green Dewey Weber Performer (saying this for easier identification in the lineup 😎)
15th Surfside or Myrtle
has it arrived? what do you think?
Great review! very fun product
Thank you 🤗
I got my fin last summer/Myrtle Beach SC and loved it
Awesome!
What setting did you use on your GoPro
Cindy Good i noticed some icon that I’m not familiar with about halfway through the session (it must indicate super fast forward speed). I changed it to 4K cinema
You have pain when your head is flex forward?
Hi Jonah, prior to surgery every movement hurt. Forward and backward flexion were the worst though. Now I have fantastic range of motion and flexion in any direction is comfortable. It's a fantastic improvement that I'm still trying to get used to.
@@flippingdust9666 ty very much for the response!. keep on the good work. you give All of us hope. i wish you the best
@@jonahalfandari2766 my pleasure. Wishing you health and comfort as well!
Thank you so much for your thorough tutorial. Sanding sponges are definitely a great help for a project like this. And those clips! Great idea. Also don’t know there was such a thing as a stippling sponge. Fantastic way to hide a patch job.
Thank you for your comment! Always happy to help and pass along fun techniques.
What disc device did they use?
Hi Ray, The device used is called Secure C
Nice technique. Thx for sharing
Thank you! Cheers!
