This round didn't go as well, with the other team holding 8/12 points by the end of the round (will have to check again to see if that number is correct). But I was sprinting back and forth as fast as I could, using cover to try and make up for my range limits. Alas, holding the middle was HARD. Play with the club! CANENERF

Seven minute rounds, with (on this field setup) twelve points to capture. Whichever color is on the hook is the side it counts for. If you're tagged, unhand the objectives (dropping if you're holding them), go back to spawn, then count to ten before coming back in. Stock blaster speeds and accuracy at 200fps games aside, the Sprinter was actually a ton of fun to use. I had darts flying past my head the entire game, but was able to nail enough people on different sprints through the backfield to make a difference. 94fps average, and relatively quiet? Having to operate a slow blaster this game wasn't the most helpful. And there were times where the dart curved around the target. Still a fun time. Play with the club! CANENERF

Some footage from the five rounds we played - we lost the first round, but then won the next four. I didn't bother with too much editing, mainly just including parts that were amusing. As usual, CANE's competitive rounds mean you have one life only, and you win either by eliminating the other team or by moving the center flag to its capture point. Play with the club! CANENERF

This one is a CANE staple: retrieve three enemy flags, then raise your team colors at the central point to win. It's a 17 minute time limit, with no exiting for any reason (jammed blaster, going out of the arena to swap blasters/reload, etc). So load up appropriately, and expect to die a lot. I had issues with the dart drum I was using not always feeding quickly, leading to a jam and a misfeed, but otherwise the chunky pistol was easy to use and abuse! I wonder if I can tweak it to better deal with club darts... When the guy who designed an on-shelf product plays at your club...of course you have to tag him with it! The rest is just icing on the cake. The Twist Fury (commercial toy version of Taffy's Skewer design) was simply a ton of fun to use, even if I'm using it in a 200fps limit game. This round of Double Trouble went better. Our pair survived to the end, not using both sets of lives this time. Also, taking the Max Stryker 2.0 out of the box for the first time. And it felt...natural, far more than the Siren Maulr did the previous round. It was far easier to place shots, including a few surprise hits on hats and such, than expected. Play with the group! The Gnarl did pretty good, all things considered. In terms of fps, it was keeping up with the blasters at the arena. The priming handle is annoyingly uncomfortable for the short, strong motion you need to do, with an extra long trigger pull before it actually fires. Even so, it was fun to use, making close shots and far ones as well (apparently there were a couple cross-arena ones that hit, tho...

I had to record two games worth of footage for the Maulr. The first game, a 3:15 TDM, the club darts were not friendly AT all, often leading to misfires that then turned into double feeds. The second, during a round of Double Trouble (TDM, but you and a partner share one respawn collectively, and are the medic for each other on the field), I used 100% new darts, but still had issues.
