Washin' Your Freewheeler Like a Pro: The Ultimate Guide
motorcyclists can be just as bigoted against three-wheelers as automobilists are bigoted against bikes. IMHO, ignore people who offer their bigoted opinions about your ride. They remind me of the six year old child who learns about sexual intercourse. "Why, there's no way my father and mother would do that! It sounds messy and painful! I'm never going to kiss an ugh girl!"
I"ve owned and ridden a Lowrider Custom, Softail Deluxe and a Rocker C. I now have to ride a trike due to medical reasons or give up riding altogether. I'm opting for the tike.
I am 73 years have a fatboy and Indian rouge looking to get 3 wheeler to ride wife love your video I need more of these do some parking lot training videos like motor man nobody’s doing 3 wheelers you are doing a great job
Sandman, Doug here responding 3 years after the 1st response. 1.) Harley-Davidson free-wheeler. 2.) Can-Am Spyder. These are both great choices for 3-wheeled motorcycles! Both are great choices!🏍️👍
Looking at a mct voyager for going from 2 wheels to 4 wheels when needed to. Can switvh back to 2 wheels when needed as well.
Hi sandman, i came across your video while searching about trikes. I currently have a 2023 Indian challenger that I'll most likely have to give up. I had 3 surgeries last year and then a pretty bad car accident. That accident has left me with issues with my neck, back, hips and knees. I still want to continue to ride but not sure if its possible with the challenger anymore. I went to the Harley dealership yesterday and they showed me the trikes. I do like how they look but i also have a slingshot. I feel as if ill be getting two of the same thing. I love the look of the low rider st. But i feel the weight may be too much now as well. Just from lifting my leg over 6 bikes yesterday, i pulled my groin muscle and my knee started hurting 🤦🏾♀️
@scootergirl8615 Hi Scootergirl, it's very unfortunate that you are having difficulties with two wheels. I love the look and vibe of slingshots, but you won't get the same feeling of being on a bike. In my humble opinion, once you straddle a Harley trike and take off, well, it's like you're riding a bike. The handling and maneuvering are different, but the feeling is the same. C'mon, get back on the saddle and ride. When you get on a trike, it's like mounting a horse. Left foot goes on the floorboard, lift yourself up and swing the right leg over. Balance is not required. Good luck and stay healthy. Keep me posted.
Bro it seems easy but it doesn’t have a turn on switch
@@Sunshinee60 On the remote, button D is the on and off switch.
Thanks. Answered a couple f questions for me
This was excellent, thank you! I bought myself my first bike at 49. I found your insight really valuable.
will the all black version fit 2024 freewheeler? amazon says 09-16
God bless America!
Hardest thing for me was making turns. 😅 I was used to two wheels whipping around a corner. Brand new to 3 wheels with 1 hitting the air scaring the sh** out of me. 😬 Learned quick!! 😂
Can you do another video on the difference between two-front wheel tires and two-rear end tires? Which would be better for long distance travel?
Awesome video very informative really liked it the only real problem is the price 50 k for a 2025 trike . Much love brother 💙🫡
Get a zeppelin air seat from harley. The best set up.
Thanks for the tips. My first road bike is a 2010 Triglide Classic. I had so very many experienced two wheel riders tell me how to ride (been riding since 1970 but never on my own road bike) and then when they ride one for the first time, they either almost crash or run a back tire off the road. They say you don't lean on a trike, well I say, You haven't really ridden it yet! My biggest problem was all the gears, but now I kind of love them. Sitting here looking at the snow in January, I simply can not wait for spring! Stay safe out there, and just RIDE!
I ride 2 wheels and own a Honda shadow and a Ducati diavel. I want a trike for road trips with the MRS and be as comfortable as possible. Plus I can easily teach her to drive a trike and I can be her backpack. 😂
Hey Mike, I’ve turned 50 a couple of times now and am looking to start riding. I just wanted to say thank you for the great information. Thanks mate.
Didn't your mama ever tell you, you shouldn't care what other people think? When im riding my bike I don't give a damn what people think.
The only ones that would never ride a trike are not really bikers anyway, they are just posers that think having a bike makes them look tough, I rode a 2 wheeler for 57 years, I’m 70 years old now and have serious feet and leg issues so I order to keep riding I bought a trike, who cares what the posers think
Good review, everything you talked about is true, I’m 78 years old and have been riding motorcycles since the 70s, now because of health problems I’m looking at a Harley RG3 trikes.
Nice bike
Ive seen more than a few riders on two wheels that should upgrade to three wheels just saying.
WTF is resection anyway? Look in the mirror, if you can accept what you see then fugg everyone else. You have no idea what their petty insecurities are and how they look down on you to avoid looking at themselves.. remind me what dies FTW stand for??
if i was gonna ride a trike, i would like it to be like the ones i saw in this video, with the long front end, and the fat drag wheels on the back. i get it that alot of guys with physical issues like trikes, and that's cool that there is a way for those guys to stay in the wind. however, i like the idea of a trike to accomplish various tasks in a different way than a motorcycle would. the trike i mentioned above would suck as a 2 wheeler, and it would look stupid. otoh, a gold wing is pretty swank for touring, but a goldwing trike would definitely be a step up in many ways.
THANKS MUCH !!!
When you try explain, move your hand out of the way, please next time!
Thanks for the feedback. I'll keep that in mind for future videos.
Yeah I don't want to see the canned ham....trying to make it's self a true Tri-Glide....stop the cap
Thanks for watching.
does it works great for long use?
@@deathblowx yes.
🎅🏻 👍👍
Thanks for watching.
Awesome. We do the same thing here in FL. The organization is called the children that are less fortunate.🎄🎄
Glad to hear it. Keep up the great work!
SANDMAN. I am sorry if you thought that sounds negative, i would never talk bad about someone or put them down i am not that kind of person. It just felt like it was a commercial how you were presenting the product.
@daveyd4000 not at all. The comments were helpful. It got me to focus more on my audience than the product. Thanks for the feedback.
I plan on pudding l.e.d lights on my bike and fog lights.
That would be awesome.
Awesome video #655 2024. 🤜🏻🫡🇺🇸
Thanks for watching.
I use a helmet with a flashing light to make the other person aware of my on coming and leaving the lane. I also use bright clothing on the road to make other drivers aware of myself. This what i use to ride on the rode. Any thing to make drivers ware of myself as a rider of a trike.😊
That’s a great idea and a smart move. Thanks for watching.
I got some great tip from your vids, please keep them coming!
Thanks for watching, I’m glad it was helpful!
That horrible feeling of a bike going out from under me kept me away from bikes for years. So sad I didn’t have the chance to ride a trike back then. Now that I have a trike I can enjoy riding and I don’t care if I am respected, I am out here living again. Just don’t get in my way when I am doing my zuuuummys 🤭
That’s what it’s all about.
I would say turning was the biggest challenge. Going faster and coming to a bend in the road is sometimes scary.
Practice that which challenges you. Thanks for watching.
As I make sharp low speed turns such as a u turn, I find myself "riding the clutch" turning on the throttle but pulling on the clutch to control speed. Is this correct or am I burning the clutch?
That is correct. Control the friction zone.
If you're a veteran HOG bike rider, slipping the clutch in tight turns is the rule rather than the exception. However, with a three-wheeler, slipping the clutch won't cause or limit roll, so it's not necessary. Instead, consider easing on some front brake while holding a steady throttle. Increasing brake squeeze will limit speed and increase the tire slip angle, helping to control tipover. If you're driving a hack, brake in right-handers, but not in left-handers.
I bought my first bike at age 11, earned from my first job. Kz 120, rode all sorts of cheap jap bikes. No money for Harley. Twenty years ago i got my first Goldwing, 1981, built custom cafe racer. 10 years ago,1975 Goldwing, restoration project. Harley guys on new bikes wowing over it. A year ago I bought my first Harley. A pile of broken dissembled 74 Sportster. A month after that servi-car hippy trike. Trike so badly done it was unrideable abandoned for 40 years. In 4 months, February to May i fixed everything i could with a few new parts, mostly scrap. Made it rideable. In the last year and a half i have had five major surgery events. Last year june 10, Aug 10 hernia surgery, cataracts bad enough to have quit my job. June 10 again, this year Colin cancer surgery. On chemo poison now. Chemo poison is no joke, bad medicine. Still got my bikes, I'm riding my 1985 Honda Rebel. Pile of sportster still at my back door waiting to be put together. Im barely able to get the rebel off the sidestand, once moving I'm okay. Flathead tricycle is going to need a trailer hitch soon, if i don't get stronger. I ride for me, don't much care what some other clowns think about my bike. 75 Goldwing stock factory 80hp 50ftlb torque 600lbs 5 speed 9000 rpm redline. No baggage, it will out run your avarage Harley. Every 200,000 it needs a new speedometer.
I was liking your channel but you seem to be too worried about what people think about your trike.Or trikes in general.
Not at all. I was responding to someone else's video talking trash about trikes. I ride what I like regardless what anyone else thinks. Thanks for watching.
You have the same problem a lot of people do? I don't really care what people think about trikes or my trike It's my ride not theirs.
Thanks for watching.
Hola Miguel, compatriota, veterano. I just ignored all your great suggestions and put a deposit down on a 2018 Goldwing Roadsmith trike. It has 23k miles and over $5k in accessories. I have only seen it on video and pics. Dealing with an 82 yrs old gentleman that unfortunately can't ride because of cancer. I am in PR and the trike is in DFW area, I am about to see it in person for the first time next week 12/03/24. I would like to communicate with you further about this adventure. Thank you
That is awesome. You may contact me at sandmanrides1@gmail.com

Please take a look at this video to see if you think adding LED light strips to your machine is a good idea. What do you think about these lights, and what other lights would you recommend? Start the conversation and let us know.
Sandman. I apologize if you thought what I said was negative, but it wasn't. it was just the way you presented The product, it sounds like a commercial. I never say anything that's negative to anyone at all. That is not the kind of person that I am. I plan on pudding the l.a.d lights on my bike and fog lights.
@daveyd4000 not at all. I take feedback to improve. It's never personal. Thanks.
