    Thank you for this series. I was especially interested in the evaluation of the different varieties so I could determine which might be best for my North Georgia location, zone 7A 0:18 . I love growing elderberry plants. They are so prolific....this year in 2 areas my elderberries did not produce any blooms. The other 2 areas did ok. Any ideas why? The ones close our house had something munch down the new growth when it just 1ft taĺl. I believe it was a wood rat! Could that cause a problem? The foliage did very well, just no blooms.

    I have been a beekeeper for 10 years. I never treated. I catch as many wild swarms as possible. I don't even know what kind my bees are, because they're probably a mix of all kinds of different subspecies... and I don't care. When I first started and bought bees, I had 50 to 75% losses annually. Now (2024) my losses are 15 to 20% and my colonies are stronger than ever.

    In the social justice world, “equity” means equal outcome, which is a revolutionary Marxist principle. In a free society, the emphasis is on equal opportunity. Marxism seeks to destroy the institution property rights, which is a basic human right, thus it has no place in Agroforestry. the whole concept of agroforestry is based on delayed gratification.

  • @TreesAreCool206
    @TreesAreCool206 6 місяців тому

    The tree range farm layout is awesome. Were they layers or broilers? Also, the emphasis on revolutionary Marxist language was a turn off for me. That type of language is correlated to the forcible destruction of property rights to farmers in particular. 20th century history is a testament to that. Consider me a Kulak. Property rights, sustainable profits and voluntary association are the moral principles that will move silvopasture and agroforestry forward.

    It's a pity that one of the old advantages of silvopasture has gone away. A field grown oak will grow in a branchy form and those curved branches when large enough will be perfect for one of the curved parts of a sailing ship. While the Kings tree surveyor waits for the tree, the grazer will benefit from the shade and the acorns and probably the drop wood.

    Love it! This is a big deal. However, why pin oak? Would Chinese chestnut make more sense? Winter wheat and chestnuts are already proven to be viable stacked crops. Chestnuts can be eceonomicall harvest with Nut Wizards, so likely minimal impact on Kernza.

      They keyword from the video was grafting, if you want to speed up any fruit or nut production then often the best way is to graft the desired species onto a larger pre-established rootstock. You take a cutting from a young plant and graft that cutting onto a compatible rootstock, which allows the scion to use the abundant nutrients from the host plant and lets the scion produce fruit as if it were many years older than it actually is. There are many grafting tutorials online if you want to try it out yourself.
