I seem to recall brief talk of a potential crossover with The Prophecy franchise. I can't find anything about that online, but being a writer myself who has had some contact with those in the industry (and those who know them) I can confirm that the idea for a crossover was discussed even if it never made the news of the day. It would have worked too since both franchises take their biblical backstories seriously. They were also owned by the same studio & what really stuck out to me was how actors Jason London & Jason Scott Lee ended up starring in the later Prophecy sequels after they had already shot the second & third Dracula 2000 films. This may be the closest we have to evidence that both actors were signed on for the crossover that never happened.

So this is the end that Satan/Demiurge brought to the traitor, after he served him in getting rid of Jesus…. And when the Father of All Evil brought him back to life and recreated him in his image to be HIS monster of him, he poisoned him against the Rabbi and God.….

Incredible scene.

I love how different vampire movies have different takes on the origins of vampires. I loved how they went with Judas in this one.

They loved their wine back in the biblical days. With all the wine drinking and lack of cigarettes I bet they had healthy hearts and less heart diseases back then😄

What Paul said was true but with this other man saying not true

This movie was defective on every level: schizophrenic casting, hack scriptwriting, awful acting, and a Jesus Christ who could have given Anakin Skywalker whining lessons. I remember by this time in the movie, I was avidly looking forward to the movie's end. I had expected so much better from Martin Scorsese. And Harry Dean Stanton as Saint Paul...his performance rang hollow and inauthentic.

I just wished people would appreciate this movie more than mel Gibson's.

Okay, so this movie isn’t good but at the same time, when I saw it, the origin story makes sense about why Count Dracula hates what he does, and made me wonder why I didn’t think of this?
