I hate how most modern anime has different arcs and a movie between every season with no real way to know what order to do any of it in without watching it as it comes out and/or research. And I'm not trying to do schoolwork to watch something I wanted to enjoy. There's nowhere where it's all already compiled in order for any anime. And then sometimes that even list the next season with an arc name instead of a season number, and then list it separately, as if it were a completely different series! Makes it a PITA to enjoy.

I would like to imagine another season would come especially with this anime being available in so many languages right away

Favorite moment of the season was Rudy breaking down after the incident with Sara, specifically his attempt after Sara slaps him for trash talking her.

This show has been amazing so far. Nice to see a triple-A studio make a fantasy show that isn't an isekai. 28 episodes, gonna be hard to keep up enough momentum to win AOTY but I think they'll pull it off.

That's sword hero is so gullible is completely laughable he actually believe everything what that red hair conniving snake says can't you see your party members die because of you and those other two that went off and fight that monster without thinking so much as a plan and that's why your entire team just got annihilated

The way I see it, Carlos was ready to give his life to stop her madness--so he gave her all his mana by removing his tattoo seal and casting a 'Last Song' spell while holding Ophelia's hand--Ophelia then lost control of her mana flow (it was too much magical energy for her) and faded away into dust along with Carlos and her 'Grand Aria'. Had Carlos not been there, I think either Ophelia would have died a bloody death or Ophelia would likely have survived long enough to witness her chimera army (her children) consume the bodies of Oliver and his friends, then madness would likely take her over completely and she would become just as much a mindless monster as her chimeras. I think a 'Grand Aria' spell is even more powerful than you are thinking... like a JJK domain expansion or a Fate reality bubble, it essentially creates a pocket dimension in this story's fantasy world by warping the physical space around the caster... but this particular bubble dimension is an area that naturally propagates the native magic(s) desired by the caster upon casting the grand aria spell--the caster doesn't have to cast any additional spells inside the bubble for these magics to occur. So, for example, I think a wind mage's grand aria could be used to spawn an area of frequent/ongoing tornadoes, a water mage could spawn an area of frequent hailstorms, etc. I think the idea is that eventually these conjured creations are able to evolve and hatch from the womb/conjured area and survive in the normal world. A mage with a magical tornado or 'wind spirit/elemental', as you may more commonly have heard it described, as a familiar would be rather powerful, right? Thanks for your reviews for this series. I also enjoyed this series and am still hoping for more seasons. But for now, on to other shows in the Fall 2023 anime season!

I think this episode gave us a good insight into Ophelia's backstory. My thoughts are that Oliver didn't take the anti-perfume potion until now cause he wanted to save as much as possible for when he needs it--it may also be that he didn't mind being turned on a little bit, heh. As for water walking--I think Milligan had them practice that spell in case the boat sinks. Also, the water walking spell runs off their limited mana so it can't be used indefinitely. The orbs/spheres Pete used look to me to be essentially spell grenades--you throw one and it goes off on impact. Looking forward to the finale and hopefully several more seasons!

Yeah, this was a good episode! A few things to note: 1) Ophelia can create different kinds of chimeras, which are essentially a type of combination monster derived from two or more different creatures. The chimera that Oliver defeated this episode looked to me to be a combo of a quill-shooting beetle and a praying mantis-like monster. And I think the ones from before this episode which did the kidnappings were probably some type of crab combined with a squid-like monster. 2) I think the 3 magical orbs that Albright gave to Pete are essentially spell grenades that even non-mages might be able to use--got to give props to Albright to risk storing those things inside his body. 3) I heard that LNs detail the skeleton fight a lot more (here we only get a montage). It's an important fight cause those skeletons are supposedly the reason that most 1st and 2nd year students never make it deeper than the 2nd level of the labyrinth.

Reminder: there are 15 episodes. From what I've heard, not much important from the LN was skipped--only a session of Gilchrist's class and a couple of Ophelia's flashbacks which we might see later. Regarding Pete, from what I've heard, it's likely that he is switching gender back and forth by this point so that's probably why he was one of the people taken to Ophelia's lair. However, it was said that Ophelia only wants male mana so Pete's friends are concerned that Ophelia might kill him or experiment on him if she finds him in female form and figures out that he's a reversi. As to the red web-like cage barriers that seal the prison cells of Ophelia's lair, I'm not sure if those are from a spell or from one of the monsters Ophelia spawned--they remind me of the barrier made when Oliver, Chela, and Pete first meet Ophelia and Cyrus in ep 2-3 so it seems likely to me that they are the result of a spell. They could also be seed-spawned barriers like the ones Guy used to help defend from the stinger bees in the previous episode.

From the comments I've seen, this was the end of LN Vol 2 so LN Vol 3 will be the next 2 episodes in Summer 2023 + 2 episode-length OVAs/TV Specials/Episodes in Fall 2023 (4 episodes total are left to air). MyAnimeList now correctly lists this show as having 15 episodes for its first block of episodes. For cut content, besides the fights possibly lasting a bit longer I heard there is another faculty meeting but that may have been pushed to the upcoming episodes so I will not spoil you what happens.

Stacy is Chela's half sister in reality. Next episode is going to be wild. I recommend continuing with the light novels which are officially tramslated in English. The anime will most likely end with volume 3 so after the anime you are good to go from vol 4 on.

Chela's father is the most suspicious character in the entire series. It's "by the way", not important. Also, it looks like the anime's rating on MAL has dropped again. Awful.

It's a shame that the series continues to "gallop". I realise that at least the murder should have been finished quickly, but they cut phrases where they didn't need to do it at all. And judging by the leaks - they will continue to mercilessly cut the story, making it muddled. These cuts, unfortunately, also spoil the impression from the beginning. In the source material, the book (not sure how it in manga), Kati's motives and logic are clearer, Guy is more useful. To be honest, I would have preferred a slower development to such a muddle. At least after episode 6.

Beatrice says I suppose because, she has no idea what her future holds since her book was empty. She doesn't say that willy nilly. Subaru using magic is not ANIME BULLSHIT, Subaru is contracted to Beatrice as a spirit similar to Emilia and Puck. Anime cut out the part he created a contract with Beatrice when they were flying around to the Sanctuary. Which technically makes Beatrice and Subaru family. Forging a spirit contract makes you pseudo family similar to Puck and Emilia.

They are not going back to the capital in season 3. Its the water city of Pristella, a new location. Satella can not be Emilia's mother it makes no sense. They mention in the flashback that, Emilia's mother is human and her father is an Elf. This is mentioned in the dialogue of the anime, no light novel reference required.

Hello ive come from the Spotify podcast (currently hearing part 2 actually) and i would like to inform you that the manga for MT is the worst adaptation of MT there is right now , it skips a whole volume from the light novel and web novel and changes story events for no reason so i would stop using it as the original source because it literaly isnt.

The manga isn't the original source. The original source is the webnovel, the revised and "official" version is the lightnovel. The anime follows the lightnovels, with some minor changes. A lot of the information from the manga is different from the original source. Also I don't know what the manga said about the teleportation incident but Laplace most certainly wasn't in that floating ball.

Roxy reached king rank in water magic, there is still emperor and god tier above that, but that's the highest ranked watermage we know of at that point in the story.
