This is wonderful. Its the next to last work Gernsheim wrote. What i amuse at that this is really a piano sonata with cello accompaniment. The piano part is very complicated and much more interesting than the cello part. But overall ,its wonderful. Romantic thru and thru. Im enjoying this so very much.

I hear the magnificent Wagner and Mahler influence. You can't go wrong with that. I love this. I even hear the influence of Tristan and a hit of Mahler s 3rd. This is great to my ears.

Hey ! This is great music. Heck, it this was good enough for Mahler, thats good enough for ME ! This would sound amazing in a concert hall. Most impressive.

This composer sure gets an A+ to my ears ! Serene and pastoral but not in the British sense of Pastoral. A Damn Excellent Oboe Concerto so tranquil.

Sperger is a fine classicist known for his mozartean pulse. I do not generally hear Sperger in concerts as also the talented Fiala. They must be featured: not to be given a platonic eye which is gross disservice.

Double Bass is a rare lead instrument for classical orchestration as the Bassoon. Double Bass or Bassoon baroque solos are precious but almost never commonly heard. Listen to Mozart's Basson Concerto.

This is a wonderful Piano Concerto. Lets keep in mind that since Sinding wrote this in 1889 it predates the Rachmaninov concertos by many years. Franz Liszt had passed away 3 years earlier. A very Romantic concerto which may in fact be more influenced by Wagner. Either way I sure love it. For an opus 6 its pretty amazing. Great pianist. Bravo !

This is real good. Late German Romantic. If I heard this on the radio without hearing the name of the composer i would be guessing Richard Strauss ? Max Reger? Richard Wetz? This is so good. A great discovery along with her most excellent string quartet.

Good deal of vigorous, dynamic orginality here, sense of proportion, not unlike Jan Vorisek and Juan Crisostomo Arriaga. Instantly enjoyable, not too derivative.

Actually, this really is quite good. Mr. Isasi is using Basque folk melodies in this quartet but he's structured them and harmonized then using all his Berlin music education ala Richard Strauss. I find this quartet more enjoyable than the other string quartets I've heard from him. This is more authentic to what's in his heart. I thank you for posting this. At least this NYC American enjoys it's language and colors.

A great performance of a great quartet. Stenhammar wrote great quartets , Symphonies , choral music, everything. This is a wonderful performance of this last quartet.

This is one heck of a String Quartet. To me this is better than his Symphonies. The inventiveness just held my interest beginning to end. I would love to hear more of his String Quartets. The texture is thick and so well laid out. Distinctly Non German. I love the Second Movement Pizzacato extended. This is a very smart mind at work. I can't get over how good a dtrong quartet this is. How can this be under everyone's Radar ?!?!?

The man's music is genius. In a sense much of what Eller wrote was New Age like before New Age was ever invented. Yes , it has forward motion but there is calmness in his music much different from the British Pastoral music. Obviously he's exemplary of Estonia Culture. You know just maybe from what I've heard of Eller and other Estonian Composers just maybe I should plan a vacation to Estonia. There has to be something special in the food and eater to produce this rather unique language of Classical Music of the 20th Century. Let me say a great recording of a magnificent Composer and such marvelous music. I've only now 8/2/2024 discovered his music. Thank you so much for posting. I am touched and grateful. These are precious gems.

Ultra Romantic and fantastic concerto!

A fine Quintet. Actually at times feels more like Clarinet Concerto. Very good writing snd treatment of the clarinet. The string quartet sounds at time like string orchestra. This is an excellent piece by Paul Ben Haim. Many thumbs up. Thick texture. Excellent performers snd recording so clear. Great dynamics.
