Bottle Digging in the Woods ! GOOD FIND !
what a day in SJ. i was watching when she came down, with her beautiful golden dome resting on top of tje rubble❤
NBNU 👏👏👏 the meetings in f'ton were really fun to go to back in the day. we had such a good time😅
Do you have more vintage hockey footage in your collection?
Yes, I have lots more. I just haven’t had time to get any put on the UA-cam site.
@@506Discovery Is there any way that I can contact you? I have a ton of old senior hockey footage from the early 80s that you might be interested in. We could trade with each other to complete our collections. I have 25 full games of the Bathurst Papermakers from the old NBSHL. Games against the Campbellton Tigers, Saint John Vitos, Fredericton Capitals and the Riverview Trappers.
@ghismercier95 go onto 506 discovery on Facebook and private message me your phone number and I will give you a call

The french village Bridge is now gone .an excavator fell through it years ago
Soon there will be none left.
It's sad to see the old general store torn down after catching fire it's also sad to see that there's no stores left in Brunswick Square and it's also sad to see that 300 million went towards of waterfront and meanwhile drug dealers are taking all the apartments while innocent people are living on the street is there any more history that they're going to tear down why not take away Prince William Street that's the first paved Street in Canada and Saint John being the oldest city in the founding city of today's Canada is losing all value because of liberals I'm not too sure what party is the mayor of Saint John is supporting but I hope it's not liberal but yes I start to wonder why there was destruction and reconstruction to the waterfront when it never had to be destroyed in the first place where I see no coast guard base and no way to direct traffic for any ships or local boats or cruise liners or whatever and from the construction site that they have right now I don't see any space where they can put a outdoor skating area because where they are putting it they said they are putting high-rises and seating areas and businesses or whatever but where is that oh so I needed skating area for the winter going to be and they can't put it on the boardwalk in front of the restaurants four in front of that stage and they can't put it where the volleyball sandpit used to be and why did they take that sand pit out for volleyball in the summertime when they still cut a used it in the fall and winter by covering it up and all I had to do was put a framing around the volleyball area and have a flooring they can put on top of it that won't get any are to it and won't ruin the sand so they can use it for outdoor seating and stuff like that or dancing area for any concerts on the boardwalk but they took that big stage out and when they first started building that stage I was one of the first ones to sing on it when they had karaoke on their but oh how times have changed when they just pick up and destroy and rebuild over history. What next are they going to tear down city market because a lot of those indoor spots are being closed down and I see a lot of empty spots in there why not have a fruit and vegetable stand oh yeah they did but they close that down because of the decline of business during the pandemic meanwhile here in Halifax everything is still open and everybody still has jobs in the same place as the only difference is my hometown of Saint John decided to take away businesses and closed down the mall my favorite mall Brunswick Square put me being a lower West side boy I do favor the Lancaster mall more but I am hoping to move back to my hometown and see a lot of history still remain if it doesn't still stay there
Lots more St. John history to come keep watching
1980 what a time to be alive....i would have been at bayside school in grade 9. i remember these parades. now we are lucky to get a christmas parade in 2024❤❤

@506Discovery I love these videos, they almost make me cry! thank you for taking the time to post them. what has this world come to? life was so simple back in the 70-80s. I really miss it. I worry about my younger family growing up in unknown of today's world. prayers to you and your family to be safe and healthy

I was a CUB SCOUT and our Mother was the most popular troop leader ( she was beautiful ) ... Sandy was her nickname. Kreta was Mom's real name. Lovely dark hair , jet black !! 🇺🇸 ♥

WOW! RARE interior footage from this mall back in it's 1st 'Golden Era', 506! And now I know what the original side entry to the mall looked like from inside! I'm hoping more is on the way! =)
Glad you enjoyed it
This was amazing to watch again. We were watching it go down from the old Woolco parking lot. It was something else to watch it go down but sad at the same time. I guess most of us Saint Johners have memories of being at or in the hospital. Great video !!
Thanks I’m glad you enjoyed it
Glad I read the comments, very cool.
Thank you.
That song at the beginning is still haunting to this day, and I wish Rogers TV could find their original Fundy Cable tape of this, and upload it here. o.o
Unfortunately, Like most of Rogers stuff, they probably taped over it.
My mother was a class of 1943 nursing student at the old hospital. She was sad to see it go.
I had lots of memories in there. I was sad to see it go to.
Lots of crazy memories in that place.
Yes there were I was sad to see you go
Yes I was there every day in 95
I thought the firing drill at the end was pretty slick
Keep watching more to come ,
We've been doing repair work to the Flume Ridge bridge last couple of years, and many others in southern N.B., its good to see they are finally putting some money into bringing them back to life. The most interesting so far that I have worked on is the Milkish Creek bridge which had graffiti in it that was almost a hundred years old, I also liked the Millstream bridge for the same reason.
Hopefully after you guys are done working on them, they will last another hundred years.
People back then would say how bad things were, and now you think back then was better than today.
Yes, I miss the 90s
The one that got away.
Lol
This is great!!
I’m glad you liked it
Do you guys hop the fence to get down there? I went down today but couldn’t get in, I’m a little short to be hopping fences! 😂
No, we park up by the Tim Hortons and walk down to where the toll booths used to be and cross the highway there
Nice catch 😂
I spent all day magnet fishing off that wharf, and that bike is the only thing I caught
🎉
It turned out to be pyrite

We were digging bottles it was getting dark so we decided to cave the hole in when we started to knock the walls down, the ring case, fell out of the wall .

Dear sir, I am engaged and interested in the history of boxing, could you write the exact date when this amateur boxing tournament took place, where it took place (Sports Palace, sports complex, what kind of sports arena is this) and could you write the full composition of pairs of boxers that are on this video from which cities they are and the weight in which there was every one of the fights.Thank you very much.
I’m not sure on all that information. But I will try and find that all out for you and I will post it here. It may take me a week or two to find it all out.
@@506Discovery Thank you sir
Anytime
“I have to stop swearing” 💣 💣💣💣💣💣💣💣💣💣💣😂😂😂😂
Sometimes we forget that we are on camera.
@@506Discovery lol I thought it was awesome cracked me right up!! Caught up in the moment, that’s what it’s all about right!!
I love the part when you said, “you’re good, she kept on walking!” Cause what would you do if ya just saw two men digging a massive hole in the ground!! 😂 you run!
Yes, usually when people see us digging our holes they call the cops. Lol.
@@506Discovery lol I bet! May be a little alarming😂
You probably get asked this all the time, but do you guys need to ask permission to do some of these digs, like marsh creek and such! New to mudlarking and want to try the SJRiver!
You do have to ask permission for some of the digs. But ones like marsh creek is public property. No permission needed. Sometimes the cops come all they do is say to fill the hole in when you’re done.
@@506Discovery oh ok that’s great! Thanks for the info!!
