Cheap Welding Helmet VS Expensive Welding Helmet! Which one is better???

Hey everyone and hope you have been well. Today we talk about cheap welding helmets vs expensive welding helmets. Lots of pro's and con's to each. The primary reason I like to use the Fibre-metal is the durability and price. It's easy to justify 2 or 3 of them with different shade lenses in them to have laying around for different project. While the Miller expensive hoods definitely have there ...

I had the whole set up for Aluminum and after 3-4 years I got rid of it because when you tell the customer the cost to weld Aluminum mobile they would freak out. It seemed to attract cheap customers. It was always be can you weld my bike or my cheap trailer….

i blew the same o-ring but replaced it myself as I didn't have time to take it back to the dealership. I now have 221 hours and mine still runs perfect. If I could do it all over again I would get the manual gear as the hydraulics is loud, it wines terrible, and lacks power.

Lincoln knocked it out of the park with mpx. Crazy quite and the inverter power generation makes for smoother welding then traditional power generation.

I guess I’m confused. I can get a kioti ck2620 or a Kubota lx2610 for the exact same price. But the Kubota has a mid PTO allowing for a belly mower in the future. Also comes with floor mat, and other stuff that are an upcharge for kioti. I cannot seem to wrap my head around the hype

In this segment Kioti CK is destroying the Kubota standard L series. Kubota doesn’t offer a cab in this chassis size. You either have to go way down in size/weight to the LX series or way up in size/weight/price to the Grand L series.

A set of Oxy-Acetylene bottles would rate higher than an aluminum spool gun. Next, your Tig torch isn’t a “Tig welder”! Your Lincoln is a Tig welder as well as a generator and SMAW welding machine. I would say that having a Tig torch would rate at number or 2 depending on the type of welding you do. However, in order to run your Tig torch, you not only need consumables, you also need 100% argon, and if your job is more than 15 feet from your work, you will need a gas line equally as long as your cables, and a remote for your welder. Next on the list would come your mig welder, which will also need mix gas, or maybe 100% CO2. I would choose C25 myself. C15 in a pinch. Unless you’re using gasless flux, which in my opinion is garbage. Thats 4 bottles, which we haven’t seen or heard about. What is equally as important to your welder, is the ability to process material. Without that capability, you may as well leave your welder at home? A saw is ok but not capable of everything, especially in the field. Oxy-acetylene is great, not only for the ability to process material, but for the ability to pre-heat anything bigger than 1”, less than that depending on ambient temp. Propane is better, but that makes 5 bottles for everything you’re carrying. If the area you are working in is covered in snow, or well below freezing, you will need to clear of and melt snow and ice. You have a lot of nice gear, but you definitely need a lot more stuff to make all that work for you. Edit to my comment! I almost forgot, that machine is capable of quite a bit. So a gouger is a must. Carbon arc gouging will save you valuable time and money. In order to operate that you will also need to be hauling around a compressor. Fit up and install a welding skid, customize it however you want, but keep in mind everything you need to operate your mobile shop. Leaving room, and making accessible spaces for all your bottles.

Thanks for the vid. I am in NH and recently picked up a CK3520. I was planning on the 2620 (for the same reason, no DPF), but after considering and hearing about how solid the DPF technology is from Kioti for regen, I bumped it up. 7 years 0%, cannot beat the deal, it's a great time to buy a tractor. I was originally planning on Kubota, as I had a little B7510 with a backhoe and was going to trade it in. I go the dealership, stand around like wallpaper because no sales rep wanted to look up from their monitor. I leave, go back a few weeks later and corner one of the reps, tell him what i'm looking for, he points to a used 35HP Kubota with like 600 hours on it for the same price tag as a new Kioti (with warranty for 6 years, unlimited hours), so I go to the Kioti dealer. I am now talking with the dealership Owner, he's giving me undivided attention, walks me around the yard, shows me attachments for moving snow, grading roads, etc. I had to stop him from talking and said, "sold". Only have about 20 hours on it so far, but it has been a beast. Does Kubota make the best gear? probably. Does it matter for me? not really. Kubota just doesn't need to sell any more I guess, just take orders from people because the brand sells itself. I looked at Mahindra also, but the Kioti seemed to be a better machine with better reputation for warranty service.

I have the same version only it's a 260. Worst welder I have ever owned something with it all the time. Ran for month then no power sent it back to Lincoln got it back they never touched it sent back again ran for 2 months and the control knob switch failed. Waited 4 months for the part back going again. Now 4 months later quits welding after 15 mins still have 115 though. So I have had it with this one going back to a 225 without that screen setting garbage. I have 150 hrs on it.

I've been comparing a few different models and for me it comes down to the Kubota L4600 and Kioti DK5810. So far the kioti does have a bigger lift capacity on the loader, more powerful 58hp turbo diesel engine vs 46hp aspirated engine but the Kubota does have a higher output PTO. And the Kioti is around $2000 cheaper. Il still torn but am leaning toward the Kioti purely for value for $$$$..... any suggestions are welcome.....

I did not buy the kioti. They were not much cheaper than the the kubota and offered no financing incentives when i was ready to buy. I did notice used ones always have a new hydraulic pump and there is no line forming to buy used ones, whereas Kubota and John Deere used tractors seem to be a myth as you sure can't find one. Any off brand is going have service and resale issues. Didn't buy the Mahindra because of Mistubishi motors. Buy one, you'll see first time you need a part. I recommend sticking with the major players.

Well as a retired Cat&Cummims knuckle buster I was a question when GM introduced diesels to the mainstream public. My reply was the happy home owner isn't ready! Because the average JOE doesn't know or understand PMs!!! ( PREVENTIVE MAINTENANCE ) As for the little tractor market there all coming from across the pond. What I see is the tractor market is doing what the auto industry is doing. Whisles & Bells sell!!! EXAMPLE PICKUPS TRUCKS TODAY THEY ARE FOUR DOOR SHORT BED LUXURY!!! As far as Kubota being better !?!?!? They all build LEMONS!!!

If it's going to be in your shop, I'd look seriously at a stand alone or multi process machine. For the price of a suitcase you could get a really nice unit mains powered, dual voltage you can run it off your mains 110 or 220 or a generator I've done that too. Of course a lot depends on your situation, type of work budget etc You could also look at other brands, don't get me wrong Miller and Lincoln are great. But here in Europe I'm from Ireland myself we have many other excellent made in Europe brand's too as well as Blue and Red. One I would recommend as I use them myself, are HTP Welders HTP Pro Pulse 220 MTS is a fantastic MIG welder. The HTP machines are called STEL in Europe, they are manufactured here and they are just renamed for the US Market. It's all excellent quality components and very well made with great functionality. We also have a UK company that makes great suitcases for between 620 and 1000 USD including tax for a 200 & 350 amp suitcases wire feeders. It seem in Europe there's a little more competition for the upper end of welders. I tend to stay away from the cheap chinesium stuff too. But there are several EU brands that are just as good as Miller and Lincoln. Fronius is another fantastic quality machines the Transteel 2200 is another very high quality Mig welder. Just some options not telling you it's the best for your particular situation but maybe it'll give you some additional options to think about.

@@deepwinter77 A 12VS will be able to handle a lot, in shop and out. I don't like taking what I consider shop welders out in the field unless absolutely necessary. I had an old lincoln 155 weld-pak which was the only mig welder I hauled around, it laid an excellent whether with mig or flux, the only issue was it was a transformer and had a bit of weight. I don't like taking out shop welders b/c they tend to get beat up by people that do not own them....forklifts, morons not paying attention and the like. The reason I like using a suitcase like a 12VS is that with a simple swap of guns, drive wheels, the wire type and I can weld pretty much anything with it, mig, flux, dual shield, etc. I will disagree about the HTP though as far as my own experience. I had a 200 pro pulse and it was the absolute worst unit I have ever had. The only wire I could get to run semi-correctly was .030 70S-6, flu, bronze-silicon, .023 70S-6, and especially aluminum welded in the worst way, and I could never get .023 to weld ever. I always had miller aside from the little 155 weld-pak and thought I would give the HTP a try, it actually cost me a lot of money to repair jobs I would do for customers. I sold it, and got what I wanted to get in the first place, a millermatic 255 and there is simply no comparison, especially with aluminum, I have the aluma-pro push pull gun and it welds AL like no one's business, even better than my old 30A spoolgun. I do like the fronius as that is a good high end machine, something that could compete with miller, but most people have never heard of them.

When I started researching to buy a tractor, all things pointed to Kioti. I was sure that’s what we would end up buying. All that changed when I actually went to dealers to look at the tractors. Kioti’s craftsmanship was clearly inferior to Kubota. I was absolutely shocked when the quote I got from Kioti was only about $800 less then I got from Kubota. $800 more was well worth going with the Kubota. I couldn’t be happier with my choice
