At Polish Heritage Flight - 15 September 1940 F/O Chlopik was killed when his Hurricane collided with a Dornier bomber over the Thames Estuary. The event took place on 2 September 2023 and was attended by the Polish Ambassador and top brass from the military, along with families and relatives of Polish airmen who had served with the RAF during World War 2.
