    This Arena if it is built is going to devastate the City of Philadelphia. Thank you for this much needed, very informative conversation!

    How can people open business when the junkies steal them blind. Look Kensington businesses closed because of them. What is she going to do about the junkies running the neighborhood

    She didn't seem to answer the questions being asked. No specifics, no concrete plans, a whole lot of word salad, pie-in-the-sky platitudes. I'd like to know where those neighborhoods are that are so clean, Center City is filthy, it's a disgrace. Bringing groups of constituents together to help solve problems is a fine idea, but I can't get my arms around what her idea about that really is. What kind of fact-finding does she think is left to do about an extraordinarily bad idea like the stadium on Market St? And a lot of analysis has already been undertaken, so maybe she's not so well informed. Philadelphia needs substantial change and improvement, I don't see that happening any time soon.

    Not one question about crime or nuisance ordinances that are causing people to leave the city. Also she is unresponsive to constituents, Multiple messages and calls to her office and no response. That is why so many years with one party has created complicity and being out of touch with constituents. Only interested with big business and money. Im a lifelong Democrat that may vote Republican for the first time.

    The Asian community came out en masse when she introduced the bill to ban safety glass in take out restaurants or bodegas. She totally ignored their fears and pleas. City Council should be solving problems in the city, not creating them. Now she wants to be council president?! She is a poor excuse for a public official.

    the City should address the fact that there are no longer debates for the Mayor’s race; and am not referring to the Primary. Kenney refused to debate and now Parker is doing the same. If you can't stand competition you don't belong in politics. Council should pass a law that a min. of at least one debate be required. Can this city become any more corrupt?

    The time has come for change. The houses that once occupied this proposed area, were torn down decades ago. A revitalization of Diamond street is needed. A new PAL Center would represent the new history of Diamond street .

    You don't need to be a city planner to know 76 Place hurts more people than it helps. Not only Chinatown but Market East, Olde City and down to South St. The actual building aside, 6 years of construction would be devastating to the economic health of Center City and something some businesses will not recover from

    DN-has no transparency ,no adherence to the truth,all BS .Thank you Lance Haver for trying to get him to address the 32 bus issue. This route must be restored in full!! They have no reliable data for the 32,7, etc and the 49 was not in existence when they did their survey. -They removed the 30th st station from the 49 -how stupid is that?? Please cover this issue further..Fairmount has been skewed and screwed!!

    very telling that he has no idea how many bus routes are affected and that the "consultants" making these recommendations don't live here and haven't been on any of these buses.

  • @ronb.8920
    @ronb.8920 2 роки тому

    I have done my own informal poll. I asked people while waiting for a bus if they have heard of the BUS REVOLUTION. Have not gotten ONE yes answer. I ask people I know who use SEPTA; same thing. Seems like Gil Scott-Heron was right: the revolution will not be televised. PSAs should be running on all local stations with info re: the website and all other pertinent info. That's #1. #2 is SEPTA says the new sys. will be better and faster. I can cite more than a couple examples where the new sys. would require me to take a third bus, while now I only need 2. How, by any stretch of the imagination is that better/faster. It is obviously better for SEPTA getting extra revenue from that extra bus. Furthermore, once the thousands of people get the details on their route, like Lance talked about his, the examples will grow exponentially.

    In my perception, the City is blocking, by planned negligence and simply disregard of the issues of unrelenting violence and depicting fairness in assessing properties.. Two vastly different subjects, of course, but let's do a short view of each. Pumping millions of tax dollars into efforts to stop murders is futile. The base, primitive culture of these shooters is not solvable by intervention. Uneducated, jobless youth are involved in criminal acts to get money. Most people with social skills and respect don't have to rob, assault and steal. For those folks, free money buys weapons (or theft of weapons by burglary, etc.) and in turn grants them infinite power to intimidate and remove any threat to their limited horizons. Offering alternatives to this street gang thug mentality is not cured by discussion or peaceful interaction with peers or professional sociologists or psychologists. Worse, giving tax dollars to untrained, over paid "Volunteers" is not going to change the ingrained behaviors that permeate the criminal element on our streets. Offering options such as sports ,etc. will not change their core values. We need to get real, arrest and imprison these people who wantonly shoot at each other over turf, drugs, macho issues...whatever. They all appear to have cell phones, access toTV's and can easily find the same kind of information that normal citizens can.. They simply don't want to... Music, texting and other antisocial activities contribute to their dismissal of civilized integration into society. I could spend a long time on this topic. Property Assessments are the other orchestrated, planned negligence by the City. A Formula for determining assessments? WHERE IS IT? Show the 400,000 homeowners and business folks the "Formula" so we can decipher its viability and application to our residences and business concerns. Why does the City hide that information from the taxpayers ? That's not transparency. That is obstructing the public's right to know how their homes are taxed and the reason we are at the mercy of the OPA/BRT .

    The main thing about Philly, or any city, is that the people must change. We are born sinners -- and selfish, and only God in the Person of the risen Jesus Christ has the power to effect substantial change. Otherwise we are just moving chairs on the deck of a sinking ship.
