    I have a small above ground pool, 4800 liters. I would like to keep it running around 28C but the ambient temp here is usually 32C down to 21C for a few weeks out of the year. The idea is to just beat the cold those winter weeks. Would you have any recommendations that aren’t the DIY for my situation? Thanks.

    Great video, thanks! I am just installing a unit and am trying to get the tubing in place before locking it into concrete. I think I have the 75mm and 90mm tubing sorted out. The 32mm ones with the transparent airtubes are a bit unclear. Do they need to be attached or do you just push them through/onto? Any advice is appreciated!

    • @Buildahottub

      The clear tubes push onto the face of the jet, there are two air button on there, one for the pump and one for the light. There is also a grey sleeve that slides onto these to stop the air pipe bending and kinking. It is a good idea to get these in place when you are securing the 32mm pipes. Hope that helps - Andi

    I'm looking for which wire connectors in the pump motor housing to connect to the harness. There is a diagram, underneath the pump. I would have to remove the pump to read the diagram. This seems like the sort of thing that would be easy to find. It isn't. I have the pump model number Balboa puums602582r, but it is easier to search for an orange cat online than that exact model number, or even similar ones. I cannot believe what the lawyers have done to the internet. I'm not stupid. They just litigate/censor until the internet becomes useless.

    sorry for the long comment, I have installed BP7 with a TP500 topside wasn't able to get the 2nd pump(1 sp) to fire(Aux). I was talking with a Tech support forgot to mention that on that pump it's 4 wire (grnd, wht, blk, red) which makes it a 2 speed wire corrct?but pump is 1 sp the wire I have is for a 2 speed but I left the red disconnected will this make a diff for it not firing? I had the 2 sp plug , pluged in pump 1 and the 1 sp cord plugged in pump 2 on expanstion brd wasn't able to get pump 2 (1sp) to fire. Tech thought I should have theTP600 I thought so as well.. but the seller wanted me to send in the entire unit..what a huge inconvenience Tech said i had everything connected correctly. and could be the topside or the expansion brd / or main brd faulty. I started wondering about that 2 sp cord on a 1 sp pump that came off of it. So Im sending back the entire unit in. Geeezz.. Help..

    • @Buildahottub
      @Buildahottub 27 днів тому

      Hi Gary, when that happens, that normally means you have not got the right program mode set on the unit. Out of the box it is in mode 21 that is a dual speed pump only. You would need to change the setup mode to #7 if you have a 2sp pump 1, 1sp pump 2 and a blower - #20 if 2 speed pump1 and 1speed pump 2 no blower - hope that helps - Andi

I put the 14/4 on that pump and taped off the red wire is this ok ?? I forgot to mention this to the tech... >> wil the board recognize it.. coz when I press Aux Nothing...or do I need to put on a 3 wire back on it..If I do.. will it matter what position the wires are in the connector? Tech said it could be topside or expansion board or main brd thats bad ...seller wants me to send the entire package back.. vs the topside to see if that worked..

    My bypass valve of the filter is not opening. My jet one does not have water coming out of the jets whether I put it on speed one or 2 and the bypass remains closed. Is this the cause of my problem? Please help anyone. 😢

    • @Buildahottub
      @Buildahottub Місяць тому

      Hi There, the flapper valve in the filter normally only opens on high speed, it is there to increase the flow on the jets when you are on high speed so the filter "doesnt get int he way" On low speed, it would normally be closed so I dont see this as being the reason you have next to no flow on low speed. A quick test would be just to remove the filter cartridge - if that improves this, then it is the valve at fault. It is more likely you have a blockage or an air lock that is causing the low flow on your low speed setting. Low speed is there for filtration and heating, it is not there to agitate the water just move it around. Hope that helps - Andi

      @@kingbee4474 Perfect - glad you are sorted. You may find it does not filter as well as normally on slow speed it would force all the water through the filter - just keep an eye on your water quality and you can work out if you need to replace it or not - if you do, check out my parts site at www.parts4tubs.com - thanks

    Single mat wall. Yeah center will work. If it’s a center retaining wall with inside pressure and minimal dirt. Centers ok but putting the steel closer to the water side with the right angle facing the outside. Dirt is heavy but water has more out more horizontal pressure. Air is for expanding in cold temperatures. Mainly for out door pads. Walls do if they are not insulated. You can put foam on outside. They don’t always put air on walls or footers because footers are underground., depends the size . I built water treatment plants in mid Atlantic east coast and desert out AZ . If you mix it your self it’s fine if it’s not the same color but you want a decent slump at a higher psi. It’s getting covered with tile. So the larger you go like pools will need an expansion joints. They have a mold plaster mix with fibers that’s you can make a diagonal mud pad . We done some. But I seen alot done on commercial senior homes and other.

    You should only need one ground or run the wire half way around. I’m thinking about it. I built a few pools. I worked for a civil and structural engineer company . I’m good with archaeological drawings because I was a bridge and ctf inspector. My my profession is in concrete foundations, walls, slabs and decks. As well as reinforcing iron, I was a union foreman. I was a subcontractor and now I’m a commercial contractor bidding on my own jobs. I want to see the bonding . If my tub is smaller how thick I need it. I can check the specs for my states code. But they normally run one ground in the ground but run it all the way through. If it’s a big building thry might have multiple points . Grounded energy. But the concrete insulates it. It’s really to pick up the negative energy from the ground . Is my opinion. Copper probably gives it energy like it does with the plants . I’m run copper too my craw space and might put a ground . Add one sonce it’s an older house.

    How many water jets can I have with 2.2kW pump? It's LP300. I have 21 and it's very weak...I don't know if it's because of too low power or a mistake in installation. It looks good when the water level is low, but if I fill in the hot tub than the water jets are very weak

    • @Buildahottub
      @Buildahottub Місяць тому

      Hi Adrian, the LX LP300 is a 3HP pump normally, unless you have a non-oem model. As a rule of thumb, 16 jets is the max on a pump of this size if the pump is right next to the tub - any more, then you are reducing the flow as you can see - does depend on the type of jet though - I use waterway that need 10 GPM each and that is why 16 is the max, 160 GPM from a 3HP pump with little to no TDH is about all you will get in terms of flow. You are then going to ask if you get a bigger pump will it help - depends is the answer - really depends on the suction that you have and the pipe size too - you can put the biggest pump on the system you can find, but if the suction inlets only allow 80 GPM, that is all you are going to get - flow rates are a balance of suction drains, fittings, pipe sizes, lengths and pumps - Hope that helps - Andi
