JD-388 Saddle stitch/ rice Stitch
Rice stitch is a type of embroidery stitch that creates a textured, raised pattern that resembles grains of rice. It’s often used for its decorative and textural effects. Here’s a simple guide on how to do a rice stitch:
Thread Your Needle: Use a needle with a thread or embroidery floss of your choice. The thickness of the thread can affect the final look of the stitch.
Start at the Back: Bring the needle up from the back of the fabric to the front where you want your first stitch to be.
Create the First Stitch: Insert the needle back into the fabric close to where you brought it up, creating a small horizontal stitch.
Form the Rice Shape: From the end of the horizontal stitch, bring the needle back up a short distance away to form a small vertical stitch. The goal is to create a small, elongated shape that resembles a grain of rice.
Repeat: Continue creating these small rice-like stitches in a row or pattern as desired. Make sure each stitch is consistent in size for a uniform look.
