@paulwykle3674 Nice deer and nice shot ive hunted my home state of wv for 45yrs and recurve and longbow love every minute of it . Only thing i was wondering is you tossed your spent carbon arrow back on the ground was you marking blood or just getting rid of the broken shaft i always save mine .

Well done young man!! As a fellow fly fisherman, I’m interested in the type of line you may be using. I can see you’re using a 3/4 WT fly rod, but did you have your reel spooled up with say a floating line from Scientific Anglers? Enquiring minds want to know. 😇
Sorry for the late reply but I euro nymp a lot so I just didn't change from my euro leader and euro line but makes it hard to cast but not bad on smaller streams.
@ Thanks Paul! I appreciate you letting me know because it’s helpful when trying to replicate the success of other anglers. Personally, I have yet to try euro nymphing, so I’m a little behind the curve when it comes to that. But when I see another fellow angler being successful fishing a certain way, I can’t help but ask how they did that, or whether I could do that as well. So thank you so much. The longer I fly fish, and the more I know, the more I am amazed just how much I don’t know, or how much more there is which can be learned. It’s not like target practice where once you hit the zenith, you’ve pretty much reached the highest level you can obtain. With fly fishing, the possibilities to learn something new are practically endless. 😇

That was a nice hunt and a good shot on the doe, please get yourself a safety harness and a line that would be a long fall.
what kind of bow,arrow pounds pull broadhead,,,,,,,,,,,,all the important stuff when trad hunting.
Zipper bow from the original company started in WV. Oxford cedar arrows with 125 grain Woodman broad head. 50# pull.

Yeah unfortunately I am old school but probably should start with a safety harness. Recurves are nice to be able to throw over your shoulder.

Instead of using air pumps use a water pump with a venturi air syphon. It saturates the water with air while keeping the water moving
