I was inspired by your refashion. I turned one of my dresses like that into a blouse. I wish there was a way to show you a picture of it. My dress had a embroidered border so I cut 4 inches off the bottom, then cut 10 more inches off and made a ruffle out of the embroidered part and sewed it onto the bottom of the bodice section to make a tunic top. I’m sure it will get much more wear as a top rather than a dress.

I like taking something old and reworking it. I had two Mexican style blouses and one was shorter than I liked and the neck on the other was too high and felt like it was choking me. I took a wide strip of material from the high necked one and added it to the bottom of the one that was too short and added a narrow band of the material to the edge of the sleeve and did some multi-colored blanket stitching that matched some of the embroidery already on the blouse and now I wear it all the time. I have several of the dresses like you’re remodeling that I bought in the Caribbean. I may have to do that with one or two of mine, because like you I never wear them.
