The world's longest distance ever flown with EN-C paraglider - 456,7 km from Caico, Brasil, on October 15, 2023. It is also the longest distance flown by a Norwegian pilot of all time, regardless of wing class.

Flyr du med redningsvest?
Jeg flyr med redningsvest. Dersom flyturen ender i nødskjerm og jeg må lande i vannet, så er sjansen for overlevelse veldig mye høyere om man har litt flytehjelp. Jeg er en veldig dårlig svømmer med full bekledning, så jeg antar resten av pg-norge har bedre svømmeferdigheter og klarer seg fint uten om uhellet skulle være ute.
@@tskarpas Høres veldig fornuftig ut. Har alltid fått inntrykk av at med tungt utsyr og evt ballast kan det bli veldig problematisk og lande i vann. Burde vært innebygd en løsning inn i seletøyet muligens. Fin Tur foresten!
After 9 months since this Video, most of the Comp pilots change to Photon from the Enzo! Or not? Good glider i think, but no Enzo performance...
I guess there was an obvious difference 9 months ago as well, and it hasn't changed much until today...😉 Enzo 3 is in a different "class" when flying against the wind and broken lift. Photon, on the other hand, is clearly at the top of EN-C in terms of pure performance.
@@tskarpas Phi Scala2 and Skyparagliding Merlin are definetley strong contenders for the best C wing after my recent competition.

Hei. Det var ganske stabilt under 1000 meter før Norefjell, så det var vanskelig å finne gode bobler når man var lavt. En del vind denne dagen, så termikken samlet seg seg til mer definerte og gode bobler over 1000 meter. Jeg synes det definitivt var best i øvre sjiktet denne dagen, med gode bobler og tidevis skygater med bas på 2700 meter. Etter Norefjell ble det mye vind under 1000 meter og et ustabilt skybilde innover Golsfjellet med regn. Oppsummert vil jeg si det var en god flydag, men med noen tekniske utfordringer underveis😉
Hei! Du som flyr mye, hvordan syntes du det var i lufta? Jeg kom kke fra solberg før kl 15 ettersom noen satt seg i et tre. Jeg syntes det var helt greit opp till ca 1400, over det totalt kaos. Men jeg flyr ikke så mye, så jeg har ikke så mye å jemføre med. Jeg landet frivillig (hvilket ikke var så dumt, ettersom jeg fik skyss direkt etter landning!) Bra video!

Nice, photon followed zeno2 very well. I could see 61Km/h in your instruments, and 1/3 bar pushed maybe. Are you enjoying this wing?
Comparing glides, especially in moving air & on speed bar, is pretty useless
Glide on speed is very important for my type of flying, and as I wrote earlier, this is only an indication. Enzo is a different class, but the differences between CCC og C have become smaller with these new 2-liners.
@@tskarpas of course - I also fly an Enzo3... Slowly time for the E4, as the rest of the world is catching (and overtaking) us 😉
I don't agree, even with some error margin the comparison is very meaningfull. This is exactly the kind of situation in the competition.
Means nothing with different surfaces and loadings... 😂
The glide angle is independent from the weight. The weight makes you faster, so you sink quicker at the same glide angle...

How much accelerator was used? Was it the same on both wings?
The Photon had 95-100% speed, while the Enzo had 5 km/h in reserve.

I also have an Alpina 4 it's my favorite wing, at least for now until my Photon arrives. You are lucky to fly in such a beautiful place. I love the snowy Landscapes, and the winter thermals must be awesome.
What a gorgeous day! Looks like the Photon does reasonably well keeping up with the Enzo, although I'm sure if the Enzo goes full bar it's much faster. I'm curious, are your brake lines still set to the factory length? Any comments about brake tension, do they feel long? Does the long brake pulley cord get in the way?
This is just an indication of how the Photon glides in slightly variable air with a ccc wing. Enzo is, of course, much faster and has a purpose - to win competitions. I haven't adjusted the brake lines, and when you get used to the half wrap, then the brake setup is perfect.
@@tskarpas this is encouraging. I always fly with a half wrap. I was worried I was going to require a full wrap to keep my hands up high.

@@sveinbjrneseth35 I agree. I never adjust brake length. But some people do, which is why I asked.
How much speed was the enzo pushing?
He held it back a bit on B, I'm guessing Enzo is 5 km/h faster. There is very little difference between these wings in the thermals and up to the Photon's full speed. We both weighed 108kg in total, with the X-R7 harness.

What was the cause? Turbulence coming over the hill>?
There was a lot of turbulence the last 400 meters before landing. The reason was probably a combination of strong thermals, a lot of wind and that the valley was sheltered from the main wind direction.
