Building a Prototype Dashboard in Tableau
Переглядів 1,9 тис.2 роки тому
In this video, we will build a first prototype of a sales reporting dashboard. You will create maps, histograms, sparklines, and box plots, and then make them work together on a dashboard. It's certainly not a perfect dashboard by any means. This exercise is intended to help you think through dashboard requirements and to build multiple metrics to illustrate answers to a business question. The ...

Great explanation of OSEMN, thanks. One thing I've learnt is there are mainly two models, one is classification, and another is prediction.

I would say that the lie is even worse than that. The thing that really sticks with the reader of the graph is that the AREA of the region in the front is HUGE compared to the that of the region in the back, i.e., comparing areas rather than segment lengths gives you much bigger numbers than 783 and 14.8. ( Though I think you hit this point later on with the frogs slide).

@13:15 the hide card option is not coming the way it shows in the video. I am using Tableau Desktop 2022.3 version. After quite some digging, I found that we can hide it by: Select 'Show/Hide Cards' icon on the toolbar (it looks like 3 squares vertically placed and 3 bars next to it. Its present besides the 'Presentation Mode' icon) >> Legends >> (un-check whatever you want). Hope this helps.

For anyone wondering how Dr.John created the 2 sales measures, follow below. Just note that as I type, the sales data for 'Sample Superstore' is available from 2019-2022. In future, you may just switch the year values and follow along. Create a calculated field '2020 Sales' and apply below formula: SUM(IF(YEAR([Order Date])) = 2020 THEN [Sales] END) Similarly, create another calculated field '2021 Sales' SUM(IF(YEAR([Order Date])) = 2021 THEN [Sales] END) You have everything necessary now to follow the video.

I would like to respectfully disagree. Yes it is simple short and informative he misses the point. Obviously this video has bias. By looking at the way his shirt wrinkles we can determine that the wind speed in the conference room is 3 mph. We all know that it is impossible for your mind to formulate sentences if the wind speed is above 2 mph. So by using those facts and logic we know that he is reading a script. This shows that it is not him actually talking. Then again you get onto the bagel side of things. I respectfully say that bagels are much better than donuts. You would need a very good argument to change my mind. So in conclusion. I don’t even remember what I am talking about, but I am right.
