The suits for the Kingsman franchise….all made by Terry Haste at Kent, Haste and Lachter on Sackville Street; nothing to do with H Huntsman. Daniel Craig’s suits are not British made; they are too tight and poorly thought out. The Connery Bond suits were all Savile Row.
Folks who leave comments like “are you mentally healthy”, in my opinion, often struggle to find the fun in life! I’m a young man of sundry hobbies, many of them mundane - reading, coffee, running, history - but many of them a bit more niche - like larping, painting tabletop miniatures, costume and armour creation, and other nerdy things like that… and I have soooo much fun that’s it not worth paying attention to people who might find my hobbies a bit unusual! Loved the podcast man!
The King is certainly a ‘icon’ when it comes to classic men’s style
I use Kent, Haste and Lachter. You should use them if you can afford them for true bespoke.
2:20 - "If I have the clothes, I'll make it the occasion" - Impressive sartorial confidence one should behold, I dare say. : ) Also, Brilliant hue! And bold choice on the gauntlet cuffs on that elegant stripped shirt.
Superb.
An absolutely amazing suit! Very sharp indeed.
Nice suit great fit.
Ok. A suit made in China. British culture is really going downhill.
Well that's a blue suit, if ever I've seen one.
Great episode, thanks for uploading!
I make it the occasion. That is a great state of mind. Thanks for the video
@@Janoldskool Thank you, I'm glad you enjoyed the video! 😊
Ooooh that’s a beautiful suit Thomas! Enjoy wearing it! Also, those shelves behind you look awesome, some great stuff there 😁
@@samuelleask1132 Thank you! I work in publishing now, so some are from the company, but most are my own collection. I've worn the suit on a few large occasions already and am very happy with it. Thank you again. 😊
It's a lovely suit Thomas. The colour is reminiscent of Michael Portillo's wardrobe choices. You could possibly swap the pieces around to imitate his look, should you wish to.
@@michellesivyour7808 Thank you! I am very much a fan of Micheal Portillo, I shall have to try that! 😊
A fantastic suit, always liked King Charles as a sartorial icon. Man with the Golden Gun was my favourite Bond film too, until Skyfall came out.
@@05Rudey Thank you, and I'm delighted to hear from another fan of The Man With The Golden Gun! 😊
@@BritishCulture Been a life long fan of Sir Christopher Lee, especially hearing about his real life exploits pre and during the war, almost James Bond like.
King Charles is, I think, an underrated style icon. Nice suit.
Thank you, and I absolutely agree!
Quite sharp Thomas, quite sharp! And I believe they're called cocktail cuffs.
Thank you! And, yes, although like a lot of menswear terms there are a few accepted names for them. I don't doubt you've checked out those two books highlighted on my shelves!
This was an absolute delight to listen to, thanks for sharing!
@@samuelleask1132 Oh wow! Thank you! I was just a little anxious about sharing these old diaries, but, if you enjoyed them, then I really am happy! It's a funny thing to have a window into a past self and a past life!
Fantastic presentation. It's so important to know what our an cestry is, so we know who we are. From Ireland 🍀
@@joyb5525 Thank you so much, I'm very glad you enjoyed it. Best wishes from Yorkshire!
Looking fantastic, Thomas! Lovely to see Pete's books on the shelf highlighted so nicely too. Hoping things are continuing to go well for you and the family!
@@SimonChambers Thank you, Simon! Always happy to promote Pete's work, as I genuinely enjoy it so much. Things are going well now, thank you. Best wishes to you and yours!
Wonderful to hear. Please pass on his story to your grand children!
Thank you! I hope one day, I can! 😊
I'm named after one of my great-grandfathers. I have a silver flask that he owned, engraved with his (and mine) initials.
That's a wonderful connection! 🥃
Extremely interesting and how fortunate you are to have such memorabilia.
Thank you so much, Michelle, it's wonderful to hear from you! 😊
Brilliant that you have kept such a detailed family archive! That recorder is a quite precious gift you have. So much of my familie's history has been lost over time.

I’ve come to love Turkish coffee when my dad was in the hospital a couple of years ago for his veins clogging up (I don’t know what you call it) and he was somewhat of a smoker since his 20s (he’s gonna 50 next year in February) so he had to have an operation. when he was in his hospital room, he asked me to get him Turkish coffee from the cafeteria downstairs and I did. I also got one for myself and ever since then I’ve been drinking it (and I’m not really that much of a coffee or tea drinker really I just like Turkish coffee). Ps: if it sounds like the weirdest situation to start to love Turkish coffee, believe me it JUST started to hit me how it weird it was. I may have also had a smile on my face when I saw that bond is a black coffee man like me 😊
@@mohammedashian8094 Thank you so much for sharing your story, and best wishes to both you and your father. 🌸
@@BritishCulture thank you too. Sana da Teşekkürler
Very beautiful must be fun to experience a place like that.
@@Seeker1-yv4of Thank you very much, I do recommend visiting Turkish Cyprus, although I appreciate it can be inconvenient to get to as there are only direct flights from Turkey.
One of thebest O07 films.Sean Connery is James Bond.😊
@@noelwalsh5898 I agree this is one of the best Bond films overall, helped by being adapted from my favourite Fleming novel. I like Connery’s performance here too, quite different from his performance in You Only Live Twice, or even in the next film, Goldfinger.
This guy is so english I bet he barfs out union jacks after too many guiness

Have you read The Adventures of Tom Bombadil and Tales from the Perilous Realm?
@@ahaan8388 I have, I think they're wonderful!

Nice view too!
@@samuelleask1132 Thank you, yes, I was surprised at just how sweeping the views were at Scarborough. Worth heading out and about from there on hikes and runs.
I simply ❤ it !!!
@@DeedUNo Thank you! 😊🍸🍸
Yes but explain this. Makes total sense why it felt uncannily "familiar" to you because you grew up in West Worcerstershire. I grew up an American boy in inner city Philadelphia, light years away in culture, my world was concrete blocks and old factories, why is it that it felt uncannily familiar to me too? The only connection we had was we were both Roman Catholic.
@@raphaelargus2984 Many of Tolkien's values were timeless and transcend place and time, and I can see the Catholic connections, especially in his later writings. Greetings to you, still in the City of Brotherly Love?
I used to read it every fall.
@@tm13tube That's lovely, especially to read in Autumn, as it really is the tale of the end of an era 🍂
Nice to have in the background
Thank you! That's exactly why I created it, I wanted something for me in the background, especially when reading!
VOTE REFORM!! SAVE BRITAIN FROM WOKE MARXIST WEF CONTROLLED COMMUNISM!!
Well, Reform did get a few seats! Tough for a new party, but they did it.
Good bye to the worst bunch of PMs in my lifetime. Shameful, corruption and incompetent
This is a really great summary of the British election. It's SO different to how things go down in America.
Hey, thank you! I'm really glad you enjoyed it, especially as you know the score on both sides of the Atlantic!
Only idiots believe democracy is good, a Constitutional Republic is best but the democrats keep telling people it’s a democracy.
Nice to see an update, Thomas. Nice photo.
Thank you, David! Cheers! 🥃🥃
Great Pic ⚜️🙌🏼💐
Thank you! I was very fortunate someone there was willing to take it for me!
I just bought that 7 Volume edition from the early 2000s myself.
It's a good one isn't it! I was a bit short of cash at the time, I remember it being a huge decision whether I got it or not, but I'm glad I did!
You had me at Morris Dancers.
Again, I can't remember Morris Dancers being such a huge thing last time I lived in the UK. And yet, I go to a place now, and banging sticks and jangling ankle bells seems a 6/10 probability.
The Irish Potato famine where 1 million starved and were effectively murdered through the greed of parliamentarians. Ends the transatlantic and Indian Ocean slave trading through the use of the Royal Navy. The British Empire was a mix of good and evil.
What are your favourite books on this?
Channeling Bond
Thank you! It may be a shock to me, but Quantum of Solace got me into the films!
@@BritishCulture like most of the Craig era the first 3/4 of the films are good and so is QoS
Can’t go wrong!
Absolutely! I hadn't been in years, and loved my visit to Scarborough!
