Hi, I am VITA! I make videos to knowledge dump video games on all y'all, within contract.
Creating is Peak Gaming - Picayune Dreams and More
Picayune Dreams is a Vampire Survivor's bullet heaven and bullet hell type of game. You play as a cyborg character floating through the ends the space traveling through to dangerous locations in search of reaching her mission objective. Though deceptively just another game to become stronger to destroy enemies is a rather challenging game with a story full of mystery left for you to discover.
What I find interesting are the game developers behind Picayune Dreams being Andy Land, Stepford, and Milkypossum, and how they all partook in creating this game. The thing that I do find even more crazy is the fact they during the production of Picayune Dreams they've created other quality games in such a short amount of time while also releasing the demo of this game. Those games that were created and released were Olive's Art Adventure and the demos for Endacopia and Gimmiko.
Edit: It appears I have also messed up writing the description copy/paste text too. I apologize for the screw up, but I decided to keep this here for being able to reflect upon the script and it's build to this moment. This'll be a reminder for myself to make sure this doesn't happen again. Sorry, I just want to upload this and move onto the next project. It's been five months, it's been living in my head for free, and the lease is due for this video.
I admire Andy Land, Stepford, and Milkypossum for their abnormal pace for creating games while working on their own separate projects. It's inspired me to start creative projects of my own, and I would like to show it to everyone eventually as it'd be very cool. Who knows maybe I'll start streaming soon *wink* *wink*, I say as I haven't planned on saying a debut date in the video or not yet cuz that's dependent on my schedule. Anyways, thank you for watching my video, and I hope you'll be able to see another video that'll be much more clean that this one.
ANOTHER EDIT, HOLY SHI: just learned what my example from an early internet website was AND HOLY MOLY. THE INCLUSION OF THAT WEBSITE WAS NOT INTENTIONAL, AND I JUST CHOSE A WEBSITE OFF OF A REDDIT POST I SAW FOR EARLY INTERNET WEBSITE EXAMPLES TO SHOWCASE OLDER DESIGN CHOICES. IT LOOKED COLORFUL AND JANKY FOR AN EXAMPLE, BUT I ABSOLUTELY DID NOT KNOW THAT WAS THE THING FOR THE WEBSITE. I apologize again for this mess up, and I'll be keeping a sharper eye out to MAKE SURE THIS KIND OF STUFF DOES NOT GET INCLUDED EVER AGAIN.
Last edit: ok I just learned I can blur it out via the UA-cam Editor. Cool.

The Most Stressful Game to Play With Friends - Rabbit and Steel
Переглядів 1,1 тис.5 місяців тому
Rabbit and Steel is one of the most unique multiplayer games that I've experienced ever. It's a game where you play as rabbits, with different sets of classes, adventuring towards the Moonlight Kingdom and to figure out what has happened to it along with it's citizens. The game itself is a 2D bullet hell roguelite MMO raid simulator. If you know what Touhou is, it's like that, but with friends!...
The Most Insane Competitive Game You've Never Heard Of - Maiden And Spell
Переглядів 3,3 тис.6 місяців тому
Maiden and Spell is one of the hardest competitive games that I've seen in a long while. It's a game where you play as magical girl-like characters in a bullet hell 1v1 type of game. I think it's a really cool game worth checking out, especially it's competitive scene as these players go really hard and all out! I think a lot of traditional fighting games are cool, but I think those small compe...
Why the f you don’t have more followers!?
LOVE the main character design, so I had to click. Not my type of game, but seems like it'd be fun to watch someone else play! I love that you went into the history of the devs. The one with the green-haired girl actually looks more my speed, maybe too adorable to avoid??
looove learning more about people that are able to create cool things! hope you enjoy olive's art adventure!
@ Me too! I just got into making indie game reviews as well, in part because the individual devs are more reachable and have more personal impact on how the game turns out.
@@bombergirlvera That's good to know that the individual devs are able to reached out more easily for more opportunities to dig into these ideas on how they've come to create these fascinating worlds! I did also just check out your video, which I gotta say, its a really good video and I would love to see and learn more about Caravan SandWitch! Honestly, perfect time for the upload since it was recently nomated for the Game Awards!
13:14 of all the sites to use as an example of early internet, Why did you go for the suicide cult one?
im not going to lie, i just searched up early internet websites and clicked a random website off a reddit. that was... an unfortunate coincidence of a choice that i had skimmed over 😰
i am very sorry for this blind sighted choice, this whole video was a mess 🥲
@@VitaSlicca Well, that's a bit unlucky, to say the least. except for that moment, I liked your video, actually.
@@nanardeurlambda will definitely keeping a sharper eye out on resources I use so this doesn't happen again! But aside from that part, glad you liked the video!
the touhou fighting games should have looked like this
it'd be cool to see touhou fans try to create a game using this kind of system!
Great video. I'll definitely be checking out GIMMIKO
Thanks for watching! Also, wish ya the best on your runs in GIMMIKO!
@@VitaSlicca I won my first run and my 2nd run with Zo. definitely gets hard to keep track of everything but it's really fun!
yooo niiiiiiiiice! yeah, def gets hella chaotic, but it makes brain go brrrrrrrr
I love endacopia and this video is good but i'm a bit sad that Packtion isn't mentioned because their music is really good and fits the vibe of the game quite well!
Sorry about not mentioning Packtion! I was a bit conflicted after trying to fix the script to go back and mention the other musicians and other artists that were involved in the small game showcase section of the video, but I wanted to keep the main focus on the three devs from Picayune Dreams to stem out from the other games they've made. However, I may plan on revisiting the other games mentioned in the video like Endacopia another, and I will absolutely mention Packtion in it! I absolutely love Packtion's diverse song collection, and I think my favorite most underrated song from them would be Welcome Home. o/
@@VitaSlicca ah! cheers then. I'm considering buying picayune dreams because of this video. also my favourite is "i guess i'll settle"
@@pineapplesandwich3906 cheers to you too! hope you'll enjoy picayune dreams! also holy sh*t this song slaps
That's a message that resonates me, everyone should be creating something in some way. Good luck with your streams!
Glad the message reached you, and thank you for the luck! :D
Damn the vibes of those games are just immaculate
looooove the vibes of these games B)
I needed this
In the shmup community we call these "ballet shooters." The name is derived from the the subtitle of "Touhou Genso Rondo: Bullet Ballet."
Ooooh, good to know! Never knew that was a term, but I shall, what I believe is defined to be bullet hell 1v1's, to be a ballet shooter...?
@@VitaSlicca Yeah, go check out WarTech: Senko no Ronde and Senko No Ronde 2 for some non-Touhou related takes on the same concept. Honestly there aren't a lot of games in this niche.
great video!
As one of the many discord folk who just found this vid: ...THAT'S NOT HOW YOU USE JELLYCAT REEEEE!
I'LL USE IT BETTR NEXT TIME REEEEEEEEEEEEE!
Alright, eight time rewriting this (maybe this is too long? I'll be brief). I'm a bit late to the party but I hope this comment reaches you. I'd just like to start by saying: Thank you so much for this video! The MNS community is quite small so we appreciate any sort of recognition and attention we get, I'm happy to hear you enjoy the game! If you still are interested in this wonderful game we welcome you with open arms! After all, the more the merrier!
Thank you for the welcome, y'all have been so nice, and I appreciate how friendly everyone's been! I randomly stumbled upon the game on steam when steam recommended it as another bullet hell, but learned it was a pvp game. So i gave it a shot with a friend, learned about the MNS community from those discord link banners, and its really cool seeing the community continuously thrive B)
May as well leave a comment- im a rather new stormbeast player and i have absoloutely LOVED this game every time ive played it from just casual friendlies to the intense tournaments, its all incredibly fun The community is also probably the best ive ever seen with how friendly and positive they are, its been amazing slowly improving during the short time ive been playing, and ive improved a lot since my first tournament (which isnt saying a lot, since that tournament was the first time i tried pvp) all in all the game rocks, super fluid, fun to learn, and has a LOT of depth to it!
as someone who comes from the tekken community, i very much loved the change of pace of how friendly everyone is! y'all are very cool, and it's always a delight seeing players in any fighting game improve B)
It's a very cool game. :mnsconfident:
a hella cool game :mnsHappy:
Damn now I wanna return to M&S just to try the 1v1s. Good video!!
That spread is so slow that its precense is opressive XD
Hi! I'm going to try commenting again since my previous one was invisible for some reason. I'm a long-time competitive Maiden & Spell player, and I recently got back into playing the game. Thank you for making a video highlighting this game and its competitive scene! I think it deserves a lot more attention. The community is indeed very helpful, and is generally happy to answer questions from new players and help them improve. If anyone reading this had any questions about the game's competitive scene, I'd be happy to answer.
Acceleration of Suguri!
Why would you add Alexander when Frogs already have Stillness? Great review
absolutely true lol
The frogs did not ordain their stillnesses
Wow, your video quality is so high I have no idea how you only have 64 subscribers. The moment you make a video on even some slightly more popular games, this channel will skyrocket. I love the games you've reviewed but unfortunately they seem pretty niche.
Thanks! I'm a bit in between on deciding what games to cover and if I should go for popular games to get a wider audience or indie games to build a more niche community. Hm... what to do
What's your favorite song in the game? My personal favorite is the one that plays in the showdown with the final boss, it just... Feels so right!
ngl, the final boss song is also up there as a favorite! It's so good and I always look to getting to the end!
@@VitaSlicca Hella banger~~
👌
👌
good video
Thanks!
Keep up with he great work (please, it is actually really good)
will do fellow gamer :D
This dev's new game "Rabbit and Steel" just came out yesterday. It a similar game, but it's a boss-rush roguelike where all of the bosses have MMO-raid like mechanics and there's multiple classes to play as. It's really good, and was the reason I checked out Maiden and Spell in the first place.
Rabbit and Steel is such a good game! I also plan on talking about it as someone coming from FF14 and the fun mechs that the game throws at people
the fact that this video is the first one you made is really impressive the quality is really good keep it up :>
Thanks! I had a bit of experience back then making smaller vids for classes, but I really wanted to give a shot and I'm glad you liked it!
Really great video and overview of the game! Long time Touhou and assorted bullethell player! Gonna be picking it up!
Thank for watching! i loooooove me some touhou and bullet hell, and excited to know you'll be checking it out!
I like this video! Your explanation of the basics of the game comes across very well, I can clearly sense your love of the game, and if not for my absolute lack of skills in SHMUPs, I'd try this one. The background music did get a bit too loud for me, though. You mentioned that the Discord is friendly and there's a healthy Tournament scene, but have you yourself ever participated in a tournament? Would love to hear you going against these...monsters. Lastly, I wish you expand more on the unique points of each magical girl. Like, "Lich" is mentioned in the Competitive Tournaments part, maybe you could talk more about what Lich is like to play, or your own favourite (your 'main'?) character. Thanks for the video!
Thanks! To be honest, this was one of my first SHMUP game that I've tried, and compared to games like Touhou, I think this is one of the easier ones to get into if you're still interested! I'm a bit afraid of the tournament scene as I still haven't exactly figured out a main, but I enjoy watching from the crowd plenty. Aside from that, I'll definitely takes notes on the bg music, and expanding more on characters going over how they work and my own main. But thanks for the feedback and thanks for watching!
