Just watched this in the 1985 Wellington race, and boy does it have some " mumbo" as I heard an Aussie commentator say about Larry Perkins at Bathurst 95. And it just blasted to the lead. Good on Volvo for sending it racing. Shame about the way the company is now going. Possibly the most boring cars on the planet, driven by the most boring people. Now they're nothing but mobile road blocks.

Rouse was a pioneer of the Btcc & well respected abroad as of which many of his kits or cars ended up in some form. Very unique skilled individual they do not exist anymore, a proper motorsport man. Certainly one of my idols & all the guys I worked with that where ex ARE could do everything so was a tribute to what they learned under his tutelage. Company owner Boss Engineer Driver Technician in rolled into one! For me without a doubt stands alone and an amazing man.

Robbie F was like the polar opposite of Dick Johnson driving at the same time. Robbie reads the sponsor script and gives nothing away "everything is fine". Robbie must have been a blast at the post race parties! All those witty comments and personal insights like - 'and then I said "the Volvo went good today, but the boys will work all night on those problems and it will be better tomorrow"... What a blast

Allan Moffat would have to be one of the most polite top drivers in motor racing history. Even when he was having a go at someone such as CAMS on television (see Bathurst 1978), he was always polite. Forceful but polite. The Moffat-HDT "marriage" was potentially one of the best ever.
